"Dreams" is a song by Van Halen released in 1986 from the album '' 5150''. It was the second single from that album, and it reached number 22 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart that year. It was released in 7" and 12" single formats. The 7" single features the album version, while the 12" features a slightly extended one. Nine years after its original release, "Dreams" introduced the band to a new generation of fans when it appeared in '' Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie'' and on its soundtrack album. Van Halen ( ) was an American rock band formed in Pasadena, California, in 1972. Credited with "restoring hard rock to the forefront of the music scene", Van Halen was known for its energetic live shows and for the virtuosity of its lead guitarist, Eddie Van Halen. The For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge Tour (often abbreviated as the F.U.C.K. Tour or simply The Fuck Tour) was a concert tour by American rock band Van Halen in support of their studio album ''For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge''. The 5150 Tour was a concert tour by American hard rock band Van Halen in support of their seventh studio album, '' 5150''. Background This was the band's first tour with Sammy Hagar on lead vocals (and second electric guitar), following the acrimonious departure of original singer David Lee Roth. Like many Van Halen tours, the routing took the band across North America only, as traveling internationally was hard for the band's complicated and heavy stage set. Furthermore, Hagar wanted to establish himself as the new singer in their homeland. Pop metal (sometimes conflated with or used interchangeably with glam metal) is an umbrella term for commercial heavy metal and hard rock styles which feature prominent pop music elements such as catchy hooks and anthemic choruses.
