Dreamhouse (band)
Dreamhouse were a British dance/ pop group which consisted of members Paul Barry, David Riley, and Jules Tulley. They released their debut album, first in Asia in 1997 (titled ''Sha-La-La''), and then in Europe and the U.S. in 1998 (self-titled as ''Dreamhouse''). The group released four singles, including a cover version of the Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs song "Stay", which made the UK charts. History David Riley, a native of Jamaica, was a collaborator on remixes with artists such as R. Kelly and Fu Schnickens. Jules Tulley worked as a session musician and television presenter, while vocalist/songwriter Paul Barry had been active in the music industry since the late 1970s (he was in the band the Questions). After the trio met in a London recording studio, they formed Dreamhouse and were signed to Trauma Records. The Questions
The Questions were a Scottish pop band, active during the late 1970s and early 1980s. History They formed in the summer of 1977 at St. Augustine's High School in Edinburgh, and performed their first gig in December of that year at St. Margaret's Church Hall in Davidson's Mains, a suburb of Edinburgh. The following year, they sent a demo tape of rehearsals to Bruce Findlay of Bruce's Record Shop, which led to signing a recording contract with Zoom Records in Edinburgh in 1978. The band's first single was "Some Other Guy" backed with "Rock & Roll Ain't Dead" (August 1978). They were crowned Young Band of the Year by Southern Television on '' Saturday Banana'' in December 1978. "I Can't Get Over You" b/w "Answers" followed in January 1979. Believe (Cher Song)
"Believe" is a song by American entertainer Cher from her twenty-second studio album of the same name (1998). It was released as the album's lead single on October 19, 1998 by Warner Bros. Records. After circulating for months, a demo written by Brian Higgins, Matthew Gray, Stuart McLennen and Timothy Powell, was submit to Warner's chairman Rob Dickins, while he was scouting for songs to include on Cher's new album. Aside from the chorus, Dickins was not impressed by the track so he enlisted two more writers, Steve Torch and Paul Barry in order to complete it. Recording took place at Dreamhouse Studio in West London, while production was in charge of Mark Taylor and Brian Rawling. "Believe" is an upbeat dance-pop and electropop song and represents a complete musical departure from Cher's previous efforts. Hoyt Wayne Axton (March 25, 1938 – October 26, 1999) was an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and actor. He became prominent in the early 1960s, establishing himself on the West Coast as a folk singer with an earthy style and powerful voice. Among his best-known songs are " Joy to the World", " The Pusher", "No No Song", "Greenback Dollar", "Della and the Dealer", and " Never Been to Spain". The Four Seasons (band)
The Four Seasons are an American rock and pop band formed in 1960 in Newark, New Jersey. Since 1970, they have also been known at times as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The band evolved out of a previous band called The Four Lovers, with Frankie Valli as the lead singer, Bob Gaudio on keyboards and tenor vocals, Tommy DeVito on lead guitar and baritone vocals, and Nick Massi on bass guitar and bass vocals. On nearly all of their 1960s hits, they were credited as The 4 Seasons. The legal name of the organization is the Four Seasons Partnership, formed by Gaudio and Valli, and was taken after a failed audition in 1960. The Rokes were a pop rock band formed in 1963 in Italy by English expatriates. Their most successful songs included "Piangi con Me", the original version of " Let's Live for Today", a US hit when re-recorded by The Grass Roots; and "Che Colpa Abbiamo Noi", an Italian language version of "Cheryl's Going Home" by Bob Lind. Let's Live For Today (song)
"Let's Live for Today" is a song written by David "Shel" Shapiro and Italian lyricist Mogol, with additional English lyrics provided by Michael Julien. It was first recorded, with Italian lyrics, under the title of "Piangi con me" (translation: "Cry with Me") by the English band the Rokes in 1966. Later, when "Piangi con me" was to be released in the United Kingdom, publisher Dick James Music requested that staff writer Julien compose English lyrics for the song. Julien composed new lyrics, rather than translating from the Italian, and it was his input that transformed "Piangi con me" into "Let's Live for Today". The song was popularized by the American rock band the Grass Roots, who released it as a single on May 13, 1967. The Grass Roots' version climbed to number 8 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 singles chart, eventually selling over two million copies and being awarded a gold disc. The Walkers were a Danish glam rock band featuring singer-composer Torben Lendager, guitarist Gert Michelsen, drummer-lyricist Poul Dehnhardt and bassist Jan Kanstrup Hansen. It was founded in 1968 and broke up in 1977. They made several comebacks after their initial breakup. "Sha-La-La-La-La" is a song by Danish glam rock band Walkers. The song was co-written by band members Torben Lendager and Poul Dehnhardt. It entered the Danish charts at number eight in the last week of March 1973, and peaked at number two after three weeks, after which it disappeared from the charts. The song achieved worldwide exposure after being covered by Dutch Eurodance group Vengaboys. Release history It was initially released in Denmark on 30 March 1973 and later in Germany in May.
