Dream Again (Lili Añel Album)
''Dream Again'' is American singer-songwriter Lili Añel's third studio recording. Released in 2007, this marks the first time Lili is credited as co-producer along with Cooke Harvey. The CD received a favorable review in JazzTimes, catching the attention of ESC Records out of Germany. Seven of the tracks were compiled, along with eight tracks from her 2001 album '' Hi-Octane Coffee'', and pressed onto a new album entitled ''Life or Death''. It was released throughout Europe and Japan. This resulted in her first international album on a European record label . Lili Añel
Lili Añel (''nee'' Eulalia Añel) is an American singer-songwriter and performing artist from New York City. She was born in El Barrio, Spanish Harlem and raised in the South Bronx. She moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2004. She performed locally and on the local NPR station. The single "Supposed to Be" from ''Every Second in Between'' was listed in ''USA Today's'' Playlist on September 15, 2009, by Steve Jones. Añel was accepted into the Leonard Davis Center of Performing Arts at City College of the City University of New York. She later studied with legendary jazz singer Shelia Jordan for one year in her vocal performance workshop. She enrolled in Eddie Simon's Guitar Study Center. Only able to afford to pay for one class, she audited as many classes as possible. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. "Down to Zero" is a 1976 song by British singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading. It features pedal steel guitar by B. J. Cole and drums by Kenney Jones of the Faces. History The song first appeared on Armatrading's 1976 album ''Joan Armatrading'', which was produced and engineered by Glyn Johns and recorded at the independent Olympic Studios in Barnes, London. It was the first song to be recorded for the album. "Down to Zero" was released as a single, also in 1976, by A&M ''("Down to Zero/Like Fire" – AMS 7270)'', and despite following the success of the top ten single " Love and Affection" (which had been released in August 1976), it failed to chart. Joan Anita Barbara Armatrading, (, born 9 December 1950) is a Kittitian-English singer-songwriter and guitarist. A three-time Grammy Award nominee, Armatrading has also been nominated twice for BRIT Awards as Best Female Artist. She received an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contemporary Song Collection in 1996. In a recording career spanning nearly 50 years, Armatrading has released 20 studio albums, as well as several live albums and compilations. It stars Leslie Caron as a touchingly naïve French girl whose emotional relationship with a carnival puppeteer is conducted through the medium of four puppets.
