''Dream 16'' was a mixed martial arts event held by Fighting and Entertainment Group's mixed martial arts promotion Dream. The event took place on September 25, 2010, in Nagoya, Japan. The event aired live in North America on HDNet. Background This event served as the final for Dream's Light Heavyweight Grand Prix and crowned the first Dream Light Heavyweight Champion. Gegard Mousasi and Tatsuya Mizuno who won their opening round bouts at Dream 15 fought for the title. A previously announced featherweight bout with Joe Warren fighting Michihiro Omigawa has been scrapped from this card. Ikuhisa Minowa was previously reported to be fighting James Thompson, but instead fought Judo Olympic Gold Medalist Satoshi Ishii. Thompson's last minute opponent ending up being Deep Megaton Champion Yusuke Kawaguchi. Dream (styled DREAM in capitals) was a Japanese mixed martial arts (MMA) organization promoted by former PRIDE FC executives and K-1 promoter Fighting and Entertainment Group. Dream replaced FEG's previous-run mixed martial arts fight series, Hero's. This is a list of champions in the Dream organization at each weight class. Dream was a Japanese mixed martial arts organization, originally promoted by Fighting and Entertainment Group, and over management of Glory Sports International since October 2012. The first two champions were crowned after the 2008 Lightweight and Middleweight Grand Prix, while the 2009 Welterweight and Featherweight GPs have crowned the champions at those weights. Akiyo Nishiura
(born August 8, 1983) is a Japanese professional mixed martial artist and kickboxer. Nishiura currently competes in MMA for the DREAM organization as a Featherweight and has also fought for Shooto, Cage Force, and DEEP. Mitsuhiro Ishida (, born December 29, 1978) is a retired Japanese mixed martial artist who competed in Shooto, Strikeforce, PRIDE, DREAM, and DEEP. Hideo Tokoro
Hideo Tokoro (born August 22, 1977) is a Japanese mixed martial artist who last competed in the Bantamweight division. A professional competitor since 2000, Tokoro has also formerly competed for Vale Tudo Japan, ZST, Shooto, Rings and K-1 Hero's. He is notable for holding the record for most weight divisions competed in by a professional MMA fighter, at seven, ranging from flyweight through to heavyweight. Joachim B. Hansen (born 26 May 1979) is a Norwegian retired mixed martial artist. He began his career fighting for FinnFight before moving on to fight for Shooto where he became the first Scandinavian person to hold an MMA world title after winning the Shooto World Lightweight Championship in 2003 from Takanori Gomi.
