Draža Mihailović
Dragoljub "Draža" Mihailović ( sr-Cyrl, Драгољуб Дража Михаиловић; 27 April 1893 – 17 July 1946) was a Yugoslav Serb general during World War II. He was the leader of the Chetnik Detachments of the Yugoslav Army (Chetniks), a royalist and nationalist movement and guerrilla force established following the German invasion of Yugoslavia in 1941. Born in Ivanjica and raised in Belgrade, Mihailović fought in the Balkan Wars and the First World War with distinction. After the fall of Yugoslavia in April 1941, Mihailović organized the Chetniks at Ravna Gora and engaged in guerrilla warfare alongside Josip Broz Tito's Partisans against occupying German forces. Opposing strategies, ideological differences and general distrust drove them apart, and by late 1941 the two groups were in open conflict. Yugoslavs or Yugoslavians ( Bosnian and Croatian: ''Jugoslaveni'', Serbian and Macedonian ''Jugosloveni''/Југословени; sl, Jugoslovani) is an identity that was originally designed to refer to a united South Slavic people. The Order of St Alexander ( bg, Орден "Свети Александър") was the second highest Bulgarian order during the Kingdom of Bulgaria. It was established by Knyaz Alexander I and named after his patron saint (Alexander Nevsky). History The order was established with a decree on 25 December 1881, in honour of the patron saint of Alexander Battenberg. Initially it was planned to have five grades and a Necklace but subsequently four grades and Grand and Lesser Necklace were formed and in 1908 a Grand Cross was added. Miloslav Samardžić ( sr-Cyrl, Милослав Самарџић; born 22 November 1963) is a Serbian writer who writes about contemporary Serbian and Balkan history. He is the owner of the publishing house and former magazine '' Pogledi''. Biography Samardžić was born on 22 November 1963 in Aleksandrovac where he completed elementary and high school (studying journalism). He graduated from the University of Kragujevac Faculty of Economics in 1989 (the marketing program). As a student, he completed the '' Večernje novosti'' journalist school in 1984 and became a correspondent from Kragujevac for the newspaper. He arrived at '' Pogledi'' (then a student newspaper of the University of Kragujevac) in 1984.
