Dramarama
Dramarama is an American, New Jersey–based alternative rock/power pop band, who later moved to Los Angeles. The band was formed in New Jersey in 1982 and disbanded in 1994. The band formally reunited in 2003 following an appearance on VH1's ''Bands Reunited'' reality show. Since 1996, an evolving lineup of the band, always fronted by singer/songwriter John Easdale, has been performing in one incarnation or another (initially billed as Easdale solo but usually joined by former Dramarama bandmates), and from then until 2003 played occasional shows in the L.A. area, as well as in New Jersey. However, amid renewed interest since the VH1 ''Bands Reunited'' episode in January 2004 and a large-scale appearance at KROQ-FM's annual Inland Invasion festival concert (attended by more than 78,000 fans) in September 2003, Dramarama then toured nationally and released a new, full-length studio CD titled '' Everybody Dies'' on October 25, 2005. Chris Carter (producer/disc Jockey)
Chris Paul Carter (born September 2, 1959) is an American disc jockey and music/film producer based in Los Angeles. Carter started his music career as a founding member and bass player with alternative rock/power pop band Dramarama. After Dramarama originally split in 1994, Carter formed QM Management to manage the pop group Wondermints. Until September 2006, KLSX aired Carter's ''Breakfast with the Beatles'', America's longest-running Beatles-based radio show, on which he played almost nothing but Beatles material and commented upon the history of the group for as long as four hours every week. In November 2006, the show moved to its new Los Angeles home, KLOS-FM, which bills itself as "''L.A.'s Only Classic Rock Station Since 1969''," and can be heard every Sunday from 9 am to 12noon PST. Anything, Anything (I'll Give You)
"Anything, Anything (I'll Give You)" is a 1985 song by the alternative rock band Dramarama released as the first single from their debut album ''Cinéma Vérité''. Written by John Easdale in the mid-1980s, "Anything, Anything" features a steady beat and lyrics about the breakdown of his marriage. Although initially unsuccessful, the song saw commercial success after being played on KROQ and featuring on the '' A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master'' soundtrack. "Anything, Anything" remains one of the band's most famous songs and is a live favorite. Although Dramarama was an American group, from New Jersey, the album was originally released by New Rose Records of France, and in America on Question Mark Records. It was later picked up for release by Chameleon Records, a small independent record label based in California. Edie Sedgwick appears on the album cover. Morley Bartnoff
Morley Bartnoff (born 1959, in Los Angeles, California), is an American keyboardist, guitarist, songwriter, and composer who has been performing and recording for the past 30 years. Formerly with the Los Angeles rock band Burning Sensations, Morley now leads alternative rock band Cosmo Topper, and whenever possible serves as the "secret weapon" on keyboards for Dramarama, an enduring power pop band best known for its hits "Anything, Anything (I'll Give You)" and " Last Cigarette". For the last few years Morley has been playing keys for the reunited group Dramarama and will be featured on the New Dramarama recording, playing Baby Grand Piano and a Hammond B 3, with a Leslie to be released in 2011. Clem Burke
Clement Burke (born Clement Anthony Bozewski; November 24, 1954) is an American musician who is best known as the drummer for the band Blondie from 1975, shortly after the band formed, throughout the band's entire career. He also played drums for the Ramones for a brief time in 1987, and performed under the name Elvis Ramone. Life and career Burke's early experiences behind the drum kit began in the late 1960s and early 1970s as one of the founding members of Bayonne's premier cover bands, Total Environment and Sweet Willie Jam Band. Mark Englert
Mark Englert is an American musician known as a guitarist for Dramarama since 1982. He has appeared with Dramarama on ''Late Night with David Letterman'' and ''The Tonight Show''. He has worked with a number of established musicians including Benmont Tench from Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, and Clem Burke of Blondie. Mark a.k.a. "Mr. E. Boy", was a founding member of Hatful of Rain, a defunct band established in Portland, Oregon during the mid-1990s, which featured singer/songwriter John Lowery and at one time included Courtney Taylor-Taylor of The Dandy Warhols on drums. The band went on to receive stellar reviews from critics around the globe, but failed commercially due to their short term run of just a few months prior to their break-up. The Whirling Dervishes (band)
Whirling Dervishes are an American alternative rock band from Westfield, New Jersey. Formed in 1981 initially as Johnny Bravo and his Whirling Dervishes, the band shortened its name in 1983 to Whirling Dervishes. Their sound has been described as a combination of Roxy Music, The Stooges, Nine Inch Nails and The Wonderstuff. Career Dazzo, Ardrey, Paola and Siegel met while attending Westfield High School while Heer and Bryan studied at neighboring Union Catholic High School. All performed in various bands during those formative years, except for Dazzo who served as roadie for Ardrey's group, the Shattered Five. The band is known for its dark pop songs and benefitted greatly from airplay on WHTG-FM in Eatontown, New Jersey, which helped popularize the group at the Jersey Shore and beyond.
