Dragonfly (Kasey Chambers Album)
''Dragonfly'' is the eleventh studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Kasey Chambers. It was released on 20 January 2017. Chambers said working with Paul Kelly on the album "was a dream", also adding: "Paul brought out a whole new side of me, but then I also got to enjoy the comforts of recording with the person who knows and has shaped my original sound better than anyone, my brother Nash, along with my live touring band who have become a huge part on my sound. This double album shows who I am as much as any piece of work I have ever done." Of the decision to record a double album, Chambers said, "I was just going to do two short sessions and then put them together for one album but both sessions ended up with more finished songs than I'd planned so I decided a double album would be the way to go." Kasey Chambers
Kasey Chambers (born 4 June 1976) is an Australian country singer-songwriter and musician born in Mount Gambier. She is the daughter of fellow musicians, Diane and Bill Chambers, and the younger sister of musician and producer, Nash Chambers. All four were members of family country music group in Dead Ringer Band, in Bowral, New South Wales, from 1992 to 1998, with Chambers starting her solo career thereafter. Five of her twelve studio albums have reached No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, ''Barricades & Brickwalls'' (September 2001), ''Wayward Angel'' (May 2004), ''Carnival'' (August 2006) ''Rattlin' Bones'' (April 2008) and '' Dragonfly'' (January 2017). In November 2018 she was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame and has won an additional fourteen ARIA Music Awards with nine for Best Country Album. Vika and Linda, also known as Vika and Linda Bull, are an Australian vocal duo consisting of Vika Susan Bull (born 1966) and her younger sister, Linda Rose Bull . They came to prominence after singing backing vocals in Joe Camilleri's band The Black Sorrows from 1988. They left that group early in 1994 to start their duo with a self-titled album appearing in June that year. Warner Music Australia Pty Limited (WMA) is the Australian division of the Warner Music Group. WMA also distributes in New Zealand. History In 1969, Warner Bros. Records branched out and WEA was born. The first country in which it was established was Canada, with the second being Australia. The Australian operation was begun in July 1970, by Paul Turner with five staff members. The official opening was held at Menzies Hotel, Sydney, on 1 October 1970. The company was then based in Riley Street, Darlinghurst, and had three major labels, Warner Bros. Records, Elektra Records, and Atlantic Records. A year later Warner Bros. The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. The iTunes Store is a digital media store operated by Apple Inc. It opened on April 28, 2003, as a result of Steve Jobs' push to open a digital marketplace for music. As of April 2020, iTunes offered 60 million songs, 2.2 million apps, 25,000 TV shows, and 65,000 films. When it opened, it was the only legal digital catalog of music to offer songs from all five major record labels. The iTunes Store is available on most Apple devices, including the Mac (inside the Music app), the iPhone, the iPad, the iPod touch, and the Apple TV, as well as on Windows (inside iTunes).
