Drago (publisher)
Drago (stylised as DRAGO) is an independent international publishing house of contemporary art based in Rome, Italy. The company specialises in street and urban art and has published the works of street photographers, street artists and graffiti writers from around the world. It is frequently involved in exhibitions of contemporary art and acts as the official publisher for various galleries, museums and institutions. Overview Drago was founded in 2001 by Paulo Lucas von Vacano as publisher, following years working as an Italian-German journalist and president of the Castelvecchi Publishing Company, ''Posse'' of Antonio Negri and ''Aspenia Magazine'' of The Aspen Institute. Achille Bonito Oliva
Achille Bonito Oliva (born 1939) is an Italian art critic and historian of contemporary art. Since 1968 he has taught history of contemporary art at La Sapienza, the university of Rome. He has written extensively on contemporary art and contemporary artists; he originated the term ''Transavanguardia'' to describe the new direction taken in the late 1970s by artists such as Sandro Chia, Francesco Clemente, Enzo Cucchi, Nicola De Maria, and Mimmo Paladino. He has organised or curated numerous contemporary art events and exhibitions; in 1993 he was artistic director of the Biennale di Venezia. Letizia Battaglia (; 5 March 1935 – 13 April 2022) was an Italian photographer and photojournalist. Although her photos document a wide spectrum of Sicilian life, she is best known for her work on the Mafia. A documentary film based on her life, ''Shooting the Mafia'', was released in 2019. Early life Battaglia was born in Palermo, Sicily. At the age of 14, her father became irate when she took interest in a boy, and sent her away to boarding school. Battaglia wanted to escape and had ambitions to write. So at 16, she married Franco Stagnitta, who owned his own coffee business and came from a good family. Boogie (born Vladimir Milivojevich; 1969) is a photographer from Serbia, based in Brooklyn, New York. He has made documentary and portrait photographs of people on the margins of society and street photography. Life and work Boogie was born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia. In 1997 he was granted a Green card for United States lawful permanent residency through its Diversity Immigrant Visa lottery program. He moved to New York City in 1998 and is based in Brooklyn. Miss Van (born 1973 in Toulouse, France), also known as Vanessa Alice, is a graffiti and street artist. Aaron Rose is an American film director, artist, exhibition curator and writer. Rose is known as the co-director of ''Beautiful Losers'', a film that focuses on an art movement which includes artists such as Barry McGee, Margaret Kilgallen, Steven "Espo" Powers, Chris Johanson, Harmony Korine and Shepard Fairey. Jeremy Dan Fish (born 1974) is an American illustrator and artist. He lives and works in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco. Early life and education Fish was born in Albany, New York. He lived in upstate New York in Saratoga Springs, until he moved to San Francisco in 1994 to attend art school. He received his BFA degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) in 1997. After graduating he took a job screen printing for the skateboard industry. The Temple of Hadrian (Templum Divus Hadrianus, also Hadrianeum) is an ancient Roman structure on the Campus Martius in Rome, Italy, dedicated to the deified emperor Hadrian by his adoptive son and successor Antoninus Pius in 145 CE This temple was previously known as the Basilica of Neptune but has since been properly attributed as the Temple of Hadrian completed under Antoninus Pius. Enzo Cucchi
Enzo Cucchi (born 14 November 1949) is an Italian painter. A native of Morro d'Alba, province of Ancona, he was a key member of the Italian Transavanguardia movement, along with his countrymen Francesco Clemente, Mimmo Paladino, Nicola De Maria, and Sandro Chia. The movement was at its peak during the 1980s and was part of the worldwide movement of Neo-Expressionist painters. Cucchi's first major Retrospective was held at the Solomon R.
