"Downtown Boys" is a song by Danish duo Infernal. It was released on April 14, 2008 as the lead single from the album ''Electric Cabaret''. The duo performed the new song on Boogie Prisen, a Danish award show on April 12, 2008. The song became available for download and was sent to radio stations on April 14. The song gained platinum certification in Denmark, based on digital downloads only, on July 9, 2008. It was Infernal's first single to reach #1 at the Danish Airplay Chart, and remained on top for four weeks. "Downtown Boys" was the ninth most played song on Danish radio stations in 2008. Infernal (Danish Band)
Infernal (occasionally stylized with metal umlaut as Infërnal) is a dance-pop group from Denmark, consisting of members Lina Rafn and Paw Lagermann. They made their Danish debut in 1997 with the release of the track "Sorti de L'enfer", and went on to international chart success in the 2000s. Their most successful single to date has been "From Paris to Berlin", which charted well in many European countries throughout 2006 and 2007. In addition to the original single, an alternate version was released in the UK titled "From London to Berlin", supporting England in the 2006 Football World Cup. Infernal have released four studio albums, with the 1998 debut album ''Infernal Affairs'' reaching double platinum sales in Denmark. The weekly Danish singles chart Track Top-40 combines the 40 best-selling tracks from legal music downloads and the sales of music singles on either CD or vinyl. "I Won't Be Crying" is the Danish dance band Infernal's 3rd single released in the UK. "I Won't Be Crying" peaked #1 at the TV-channel The Voice TV Danmark. The music video was directed by Loic Maes and shot in Paris. This is their most viewed video on YouTube, 3 million views . The song heavily samples " Strangelove", a 1987 song by the English band Depeche Mode. The UK release date was set to be 21 May 2007. According to the band's website it would have guaranteed them a UK tour, if this single reached #1. The CD single release was cancelled in the UK, due to an apparent lack of media support. Pieter Henket (born January 21, 1979) is a Dutch photographer living and working in New York City. His notable work includes shooting the cover of Lady Gaga’s debut album The Fame, and photographing National Congolese acting out their mythologies in the Congo rainforest for the book ''Congo Tales'' published by Prestel Publishing in 2018. He is known for a photographic style that takes inspiration from the 17th century Dutch Golden Age of painting. Life and career Henket was born in Geldrop, Netherlands. He is the son of the Dutch architect Hubert-Jan Henket and the nephew of the Dutch photographer Bertien van Manen.
