"Down" is a song by American singer Mya, released as a single in 2019 from her eighth studio album ''T.K.O. (The Knock Out)''. Music video The music video for the song was directed by Josh Sikkema. A four-day shoot, the video was filmed in early January 2019 in Belitung and Sumatra. The video premiered on April 20, 2019 via Vevo and made available for purchase the next day. Following the release of "With You", the pulsating "Down" was chosen as the next single to receive the visual treatment. Mya Marie Harrison (; born October 10, 1979), (stylized as Mýa), is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress. Born into a musical family, she studied ballet, jazz, and tap dance as a child. Initially, Mýa began her career as a VJ and dance posse member on BET's '' Teen Summit''. During her stint at BET, she developed an interest in music which lead to independent deal from the guidance of CEO Haqq Islam. Planet 9 is an American independent record label founded by American singer Mýa. After parting ways with her major label, Universal Motown and following the advice of her mentor J. Prince, Harrison established and developed her own independent label with a new business approach in mind to create and release music.
