"Douha (Mali Mali)" is a song by the English band Disclosure and Malian singer-songwriter Fatoumata Diawara. It was released as the fifth single from the duo's third studio album ''Energy'' on 29 July 2020. Background The song is about Diawara's hometown, which is in the lyrics, "When you go to my home country/There is unity in my home-country/There is harmony and love in my home-country/There is brotherhood in my home-country." In videoshared on Disclosure's YouTube channel approximately two weeks after the song's release, Diawara explains that "douha" means "prayer", and that the song itself is a cry for help on behalf of her country. Disclosure is an English electronic music duo consisting of brothers Howard (born 11 May 1994) and Guy Lawrence (born 25 May 1991). They grew up in Reigate, Surrey. 2020 Malian Coup D'état
On 18 August 2020, elements of the Malian Armed Forces began a mutiny. Soldiers on pick-up trucks stormed the Soundiata military base in the town of Kati, where gunfire was exchanged before weapons were distributed from the armory and senior officers arrested. Tanks and armoured vehicles were seen on the town's streets, as well as military trucks heading for the capital, Bamako. The soldiers detained several government officials including President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta, who resigned and dissolved the government. Fatoumata Diawara ( bm, ߝߊ߫ߕߎߡߕߊ ߖߊ߯ߥߙߊ߫, Fatumta Jawara, born 1982) is a Malian singer-songwriter currently living in France. Diawara began her career as an actress in theatre and in film, including ''Genesis'' (1999), '' Sia, The Dream of the Python'' (2001) and ''Timbuktu'' (2014). She later launched a career in music, collaborating with numerous artists and releasing three studio albums beginning with 2011 debut ''Fatou''.
