Douglas Horse Tram
The Douglas Bay Horse Tramway ( gv, Raad Yiarn Cabbyl Vaie Ghoolish) on the Isle of Man runs along the seafront promenade for approximately , from the southern terminus at the Victoria Pier, adjacent to the Isle of Man Sea Terminal, to Derby Castle station, the southern terminus of the Manx Electric Railway, where the workshops and sheds are located. It is a distinctive tourist attraction. However works have been underway to relay all of the track in 2019 and at present only a third (from the Derby Castle) is usable, with no published completion date for the works. History The tramway was built and initially operated by Thomas Lightfoot, a retired civil engineer from Sheffield. Bushy's Brewery
Bushy's Brewery is a local brewery in Braddan in the Isle of Man, which was founded by brother and sister Martin and Nicky Brunnschwieler in 1986. In October 1984, they took over Zhivago's Bar in Victoria St, Douglas and, two years later, started a microbrewery in the cellar and made their own brand ''Old Bushy Tail'', a red-brown beer with a strong malt flavour with an after-taste of hops and caramel. The location was named Bushy's Brewpub. A professional brewer, Davey Jones from London, was placed in charge of quality, and in 1990 a new brewery opened, with famous British writer Michael Jackson, known for the book ''The World Guide To Beer'' (1977) and as a "beer guru", attending the official opening. The Victor Harbor Horse Drawn Tram is located on the shores of the city of Victor Harbor, South Australia, Victor Harbor, South Australia, Australia. The Jurby Transport Museum ( gv, Thie Tashtee Arraghey Yurby) is a transport museum in Jurby on the Isle of Man occupying a former aircraft hangar. The museum is operated by a group of volunteers who are members of the Manx Transport Trust. Entrance is free but donations are welcome. The museum receives no public funding and relies on donations to aid its running costs History The museum was prepared by a group of volunteers prior to its opening. The Manx Museum (Thie Tashtee Vannin) in Douglas, Isle of Man is the national museum of the Isle of Man. It is run by Manx National Heritage. In general, the museum covers 10,000 years the history of the Isle of Man from the Stone Age to the modern era. The museum serves as headquarters of Manx National Heritage. Vulcan (motor Vehicles)
The Vulcan Motor and Engineering Company Limited, of Southport, England, made cars from 1902 until 1928 and commercial vehicles from 1914 until 1953. History 1902-1918 Brothers Thomas and Joseph Hampson had built an experimental car in Bolton in 1899. In 1902 they moved to Southport trading as Vulcan Motor Manufacturing and Trading and built the first Vulcan car which was a 4hp single-cylinder belt-driven type driving the rear wheels through a two speed gearbox and a belt to the back axle. In 1903, this grew to 6.5hp with shaft drive and the chassis was now "armoured ash". Twin-cylinder 1.5 L models followed in 1904 now with steel chassis and in 1905, 2 and then 3 L four-cylinder types appeared and the company moved from Yellow House Lane to Hawesside Street, both in Southport.
