Douglas Kent Hall
Douglas Kent Hall (December 12, 1938 – March 30, 2008) was an American writer and photographer. Hall was a fine art photographer and writer of fiction, poetry, nonfiction, essays, and screenplays. His first published photographs were of Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison, and his first exhibition of photographs was at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Hall published twenty-five books, including two with Arnold Schwarzenegger. His photographs often cover subjects such as rock and roll musicians, rodeo, cowboys, prison, flamenco, bodybuilders, the U.S.-Mexico border, the American West, New Mexico, New York City, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Great Britain, Greece, Russia, Native Americans, writers, and artists. Sir Douglas Hall, 1st Baronet
Sir Douglas Bernard Hall, 1st Baronet (24 December 1866 – 30 June 1923) was a British Conservative Party politician. The son of Bernard Hall, Mayor of Liverpool, he was a justice of the peace and lived at Burton Park, Petworth, Sussex. He was educated at Charterhouse School and Christ Church, Oxford. In 1890 he married Caroline Montgomery of New York State and in 1894 purchased Burton Park, West Sussex. A prominent landowner and lord of the manor of Barlavington, Burton and Crouch, he was appointed High Sheriff of Sussex for 1907. In January 1910 he was elected to the House of Commons as Member of Parliament for the Isle of Wight, unseating the sitting Liberal member, Godfrey Baring. He held the seat until the 1922 general election. Hall was a yachtsman, and on the outbreak of the First World War used his vessel in patrol work in the Solent and English Channel while the British Expeditionary Force was being moved to the continent. Sir Douglas Basil Hall, 14th Baronet, (1 February 1909 – 8 April 2004) was a British colonial administrator. He served as the last Governor of the British Somaliland Protectorate before its independence, from 11 July 1959 to 26 June 1960. He was also a lifelong radio enthusiast. Early life Hall was born on 1 February 1909, the son of Captain Lionel Erskine Hall and Jane Augusta Reynolds. Though raised in England, he was a descendant of Sir John Hall and his son Sir James Hall, who each had a footnote in the history of Scotland. He was educated at Radley College and Keble College, Oxford, graduating to earn an MA. He married Rachel Marion Gartside-Tipping in 1933 (d. 1990) and they had four children, the first of whom died in infancy. Douglas John Hall (born 1928) is an emeritus professor of theology at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, and a minister of the United Church of Canada. Prior to joining the McGill Faculty of Religious Studies in 1975 he was MacDougald Professor of Systematic Theology at St Andrew's College in the University of Saskatchewan (1965–1975), Principal of St Paul's College in the University of Waterloo (1962–1965), and minister of St Andrew's Church in Blind River, Ontario (1960–1962). Dougie Hall (born 24 September 1980) is a former Scottish international rugby union player, who played 151 games for the Glasgow Warriors and won 42 caps for Scotland. Background Born in Dingwall, he was educated at Glenalmond College in Perthshire and it was playing for them he was first scouted. Career He debuted for Scotland in the second-half defeat against Wales at the age of 22 in August 2003 (23–9). Doug Hall (artist)
Doug Hall is an American photographer and media artist, who has received national and international recognition for his work in a range of practices including performance, installation, video, and large scale digital photography. He was a member of T. R. Uthco Collective (1970–1978). From 1981 to 2008, he was a member of faculty in the New Genres Department at the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI). After retiring from the SFAI, he joined the Graduate Fine Arts faculty at the California College of the Arts (CCA) from 2008 to 2015. He is based in San Francisco.
