Doug Plumb
Doug Plumb (born August 5, 1988) is a Canadian former professional basketball player. As of 2019, he is the head coach for the London Lightning of the National Basketball League of Canada. He finished his college basketball career at UBC and briefly played professionally in Europe, before joining the London Lightning as an assistant coach in 2016. He joined the St. John's Edge in 2017 and eventually became the head coach. Early life Plumb grew up in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia and attended middle school in Pitt Meadows. As a sophomore in high school, he moved to Hastings, Minnesota after his father Norm found a job there. He played basketball for Hastings High School and left as its all-time leading scorer. College career Plumb began his college career with NCAA Division II program Minnesota State on a scholarship. He received little playing time and returned to his family in Canada after one season. London Lightning
The London Lightning is a Canadian professional basketball team based in London, Ontario, Canada, with home games at the Budweiser Gardens. The team is a charter member of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) that began play for the 2011–12 season and won the league's first championship. The Lightning have won the most NBLC championships with five. History The Lightning name was announced on August 12, 2011. On August 17, former Albany Patroons and Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry head coach Micheal Ray Richardson was announced as the Lightning's first head coach. The Lightning would go on to win the 2012 NBL championship, defeating the Halifax Rainmen 116-92 on March 25, 2012 at the John Labatt Centre to take the best-of-five championship series three games to two. ''The Sheaf'' is a student-run newspaper serving the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan since 1912. A new issue comes out every Thursday with approximately 3,000 copies per issue. ''The Sheaf'' is a student-run non-profit organization. It receives part of its operating budget from U of S students in the form of a direct-levy; the remainder of the revenue is generated through advertising. The financial affairs are governed by a Board of Directors, most of whom are students. Mission The mission of ''The Sheaf'' is to inform and entertain students by addressing those issues that are relevant to life on campus, in the city, or in the province. The newspaper is also meant to be a forum for discussion on a wide range of issues that concern students. The paper is written for students by students.
