Douglas Miller (Alberta Politician)
Douglas Miller (November 3, 1904 – July 22, 1982) was a provincial politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1967 to 1975 sitting with the Social Credit caucus in both government and opposition. Political career Miller ran for a seat to the Alberta Legislature in the 1967 Alberta general election. He was the Social Credit candidate in the electoral district of Taber-Warner and won the seat easily defeating three other candidates. Miller ran for a second term in office in the 1971 Alberta general election. Doug Miller (born July 14, 1954) is an American politician. He served as a Republican member for the 73rd district of the Texas House of Representatives. Miller was born in New Braunfels, Texas. He attended Texas State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in law enforcement in 1976. He served as the mayor of New Braunfels. In 2009, Miller was elected for the 73rd district of the Texas House of Representatives, succeeding Nathan Macias. In 2007 he was succeeded by Kyle Biedermann. Douglas Lee Miller (December 31, 1949 – February 5, 2021) was an American gospel musician. He started his music career, in 1984, with the release of, ''I Still Love the Name Jesus'', that was released by Atlanta International Records. This album along with five others placed on exclusively the ''Billboard'' magazine Gospel Albums chart. He released albums with A&M Records, Light Records, Word Records, Atlanta International Records, and Rejoice Music Group. Early life Miller was born on December 31, 1949, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania as Douglas Lee Miller, and was reared in the church singing in the choir. James Douglas Miller FRSE (20 July 1937 – 23 August 1995) was a Scottish neurosurgeon of international repute. The Douglas Miller Memorial Lecture is named in his honour. Life He was born in Glasgow on 20 July 1937. His father was an executive at Collins the publisher. He was educated at Glasgow Academy then studied medicine at the University of Glasgow graduating with an MB ChB. Meeting Bryan Jennett he was inspired to be a neurosurgeon. From 1962 to 1965 he was Surgical Senior House Officer at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. From 1965 to 1967 he was a Medical Research Council Fellow. In 1969 he went to America to the University of Pennsylvania to study under Dr Langfitt. In 1971 he returned to Scotland and began lecturing in neurosurgery at the University of Glasgow. In 1975 he became Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Virginia and in 1981 returned to Scotland as Professor of Surgical Neurology at the University of Edinburgh. Crazy Town (sometimes abbreviated as CXT) is an American rap rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1995 by Bret Mazur and Seth Binzer. Crazy Town is best known for their 2000 hit single "Butterfly", which reached number one on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart and helped their debut album, ''The Gift of Game'' (1999), sell over 1.6 million units. Their follow-up album, ''Darkhorse'' (2002), failed to achieve the same level of success, contributing to the band's breakup in 2003. Mazur and Binzer reformed the band in 2007 and released their third album, ''The Brimstone Sluggers'', in 2015. In 2017, Mazur left the band and Binzer changed the name of the band to Crazy Town X. Doug Miller (born May 5, 1969) is an American youth soccer coach and retired soccer player. He spent one season in Major Indoor Soccer League and nine in the National Professional Soccer League as a forward, winning two championships and leading the league in scoring in 1998–99. Miller also played ten seasons of outdoor soccer in the USISL and A-League. He was the 1996 and 1997 USISL A-League leading scorer and 1997 league MVP. He also won one U.S. Open Cup. In 2011, he became the first player signed to the new Rochester Lancers indoor team and was named the first team captain in the club's history. Youth and college Miller was born in the Succasunna section of Roxbury Township, New Jersey. He began playing soccer at the Roxbury Recreation Soccer League when he was five, graduating to the Roxbury Travelling Team when he turned eight.
