Douglas Marjoribanks Fisher (20 September 1941 – 9 July 2000) was an English actor best known for playing Larry Simmonds in ''Man About the House'' (1973–1976), Sammy in the films '' The Stud'' (1978) and '' The Bitch'' (1979) and Jim Medhurst in '' London's Burning'' (1988–1993). Early life He graduated from St Edmund Hall, Oxford in 1966, with a degree in French and Russian. Career He portrayed Larry Simmonds, the lovable rogue who occupied the attic apartment in the ITV sitcom ''Man About the House'' and played Sammy in the films '' The Stud'' (1978) and '' The Bitch'' (1979), opposite Joan Collins. Concept ''The Detectives'' originated from a recurring sketch that first appeared on Jasper Carrott's comedy show ''Canned Carrott''. Because of its success, it was turned into a television series. ''That's Your Funeral'' was a BBC sitcom from 1971 about a North of England funeral director called Basil Bulstrode (Bill Fraser). Storylines used many urban legends about the funeral industry. It was cancelled after one series. A very similar theme was used far more successfully in the ITV sitcom '' In Loving Memory''. Film In 1972, the sitcom was adapted into a film version by Hammer Films. The plot concerns two rival undertakers whose firms are used as fronts for drug smuggling. A myocardial infarction (MI), commonly known as a heart attack, occurs when blood flow decreases or stops to the coronary artery of the heart, causing damage to the heart muscle. The most common symptom is chest pain or discomfort which may travel into the shoulder, arm, back, neck or jaw.
