Doubt Me Now
''Doubt Me Now'' is the debut album by American rapper Lil Wyte, released March 4, 2003. The album became an underground hit among fans, selling over 135,000 copies independently, without any promotion. To date it has sold 360,000 copies. Fans also consider this his best album. Doubt Me Now was also remixed in the Chopped and screwed style by DJ Black and named ''Doubt Me Now: Surped Up and Screwed''. The song "Ten Toes Tall" was originally from the album he made with Shelby Forest Click. On the iTunes version of this album, the skits "Shit Faced" and "Don't Take Those" are not included, however "Death and Life" is still intact. Patrick Dhane Lanshaw (born October 6, 1982), better known by his stage name Lil Wyte, is an American rapper. He is a member of the rap collective Hypnotize Minds and owner of the independent label Wyte Music. Early life Growing up in Frayser, Memphis, Frayser, Lil Wyte discovered his rapping talent at a young age as he could rap Sir Mix-a-Lot's entire song "Baby Got Back" completely. He participated in freestyle rap, freestyle battles at high school when he was in ninth grade. Lanshaw rapped with his friend "Lil Black", who inspired him to use the pseudonym "Lil Wyte" and write songs instead of freestyling. Darnell Carlton (born August 20, 1974), better known by his stage name Crunchy Black, is an American rapper and hype man. Career He was a longtime member of the Oscar-winning hip hop group Three 6 Mafia from the group's founding until 2006. At the 78th Academy Awards in 2006, Three 6 Mafia and Frayser Boy won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for '' It's Hard out Here for a Pimp''. Chopped and screwed (also called screwed and chopped or slowed and throwed) is a music genre and technique of remixing music that involves slowing down the tempo and deejaying. It developed in the Houston hip hop scene in the early 1990s by DJ Screw. The screwed technique involves slowing the tempo of a song down to 60 and 70 quarter-note beats per minute and applying techniques such as skipping beats, record scratching, stop-time and affecting portions of the original composition to create a "chopped-up" version of the song.
