Double Bugg

Dance detail Double bugg is more or less a competitive dance within the BRR dance family administered by the Swedish Dancesport Federation. The dance style has its background in another typical and invented Swedish dance style, namely Bugg. Bugg comes originally from Lindy Hop (Jitterbug). Double bugg is danced by three persons, especially a gentleman and two women. Variations occur however. Double bugg is mostly performered on dance competitions, but sometimes also occurred among social dancers. The dance arose during the 80s and was due to deficiency on gentlemen wanted to dance. One found out that a gentleman could dance the Swedish partner dance Bugg with two women concurrent. Suddenly a new dance style in Sweden was invented, double bugg. Swing (dance)
Swing dance is a group of Social dance, social dances that developed with the swing music, swing style of jazz music in the 1920s–1940s, with the origins of each dance predating the popular "swing era". Hundreds of styles of swing dancing were developed; those that have survived beyond that era include Lindy Hop, Balboa (dance), Balboa, Collegiate shag, Collegiate Shag, and Charleston (dance), Charleston. Today, the best-known of these dances is the Lindy Hop, which originated in Harlem in the early 1930s. Partner dances are dances whose basic choreography involves coordinated dancing of two partners, as opposed to individuals dancing alone or individually in a non-coordinated manner, and as opposed to groups of people dancing simultaneously in a coordinated manner. Boogie Woogie (dance)

Although the term derives from the boogie-woogie genre of music, the steps are most often danced to rock music of various kinds. Terminology The name was taken for the dance steps labeled as boogie-woogie because the name rock'n'roll (dance) used in competition dance was already taken by a highly acrobatic dance form. Boogie woogie as a competition dance is a led dance, not choreographed, and can contain acrobatic elements, but not like in ''acrobatic rock'n'roll''. The limitation of aerials are various in European countries, but by the strong Lindy Hop influence, they cannot be completely removed from the dance. Jitterbug
Jitterbug is a generalized term used to describe swing dancing. It is often synonymous with the lindy hop dance but might include elements of the jive, east coast swing, collegiate shag, charleston, balboa and other swing dances. Swing dancing originated in the African-American communities of New York City in the early 20th century. Many nightclubs had a whites-only or blacks-only policy due to racial segregation, however the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem had a no-discrimination policy which allowed whites and blacks to dance together and it was there that the lindy hop dance flourished, started by dancers such as George Snowden and Frank Manning. The term jitterbug was originally a ridicule used by black patrons to describe whites who started to dance the lindy hop, as they were dancing faster and jumpier than was intended, like "jittering bugs", although it quickly lost its negative connotation as the more erratic version caught on.
