Dotty Fothergill
Dorothy Ann Fothergill (born c. 1945) is an American former left-handed ten-pin bowler who competed in the Professional Women's Bowling Association (PWBA). In a brief career that was cut short by injury, she won 12 titles on the PWBA Tour, including six major championships. She was named the Woman Bowler of the Year in 1968 and 1969, and defeated many top men's competitors in exhibition play. She sued the Professional Bowlers Association in 1970 when her application to compete in men's tournaments was rejected. She was inducted into the Women's International Bowling Congress (WIBC) Hall of Fame (later merged into the United States Bowling Congress Hall of Fame) in 1980. She was also one of the charter inductees into the PWBA Hall of Fame in 1995. Early years Fothergill was raised in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. Jim Stefanich
} Jim Stefanich (born November 1, 1941) is a retired American right-handed ten-pin bowler most known for his years in the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA). Stefanich won 14 PBA Tour titles, including two major championships, and rolled the third-ever televised perfect 300 game in a PBA Tour event. He is a member of the PBA and USBC Halls of Fame. PBA career Stefanich joined the PBA Tour in 1965, and won his first PBA title at the 1966 Baltimore Open. The next season, he qualified as the top seed in the 1967 Firestone Tournament of Champions. After witnessing the historic televised 300 game by Jack Biondolillo in the opening match of that event's final round, it was Stefanich who won the championship for his second PBA title and first major. Center Ossipee is a census-designated place in the town of Ossipee in Carroll County, New Hampshire. The population was 526 at the 2020 census. It is one of the two main villages in the town, the other being Ossipee Corner (shown simply as "Ossipee" on topographic maps). Center Ossipee has a separate ZIP code (03814) from other portions of the town of Ossipee. Geography The CDP is in the east-central part of the town of Ossipee, on high ground north of the Dan Hole River and southwest of Ossipee Lake. New Hampshire Route 16 and Route 25 bypass the village to the east. Route 16 leads south to Ossipee village and to Rochester; to the north it leads six miles to West Ossipee and to North Conway. USBC Queens
The USBC Queens is an annual ten-pin bowling event for amateur and professional female bowlers, sanctioned by the United States Bowling Congress. The event is one of four women's professional majors since the PWBA tour returned in 2015 and the female equivalent of the USBC Masters, now one of the four majors on the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour. The format for the USBC Queens tournament is similar to the USBC Masters. All entrants bowl 15 games of qualifying over three days. The top 63 qualifiers plus the previous year's champion are then seeded for match play. Match play consists of three-game, total-pinfall matches in a double-elimination format. First-time losers during the match play rounds are not eliminated, but are instead placed into an elimination bracket, where they must survive all subsequent three-game matches to have a chance at making the championship finals.
