Dottie Leonard Miller
Dottie Golt Leonard Miller is an American business executive who heads companies that specialize in Christian music and other Christian products. She is a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Early years A native of Wilmington, Delaware, Miller is the daughter of William M. Golt and Dorothy Golt. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1963. Career Miller began her Christian and Gospel music career as a receptionist, radio promoter, and salesperson for Calvary Records and Windchime Records. In 1981, helped by a modest investment by family members and a friend, Miller launched New Day Christian Distributors in her garage. Over time, the company added books, clothing, games, gifts, and toys and became "a major source of distribution for the Christian retail market." The Cowboy Channel
The Cowboy Channel (formerly FamilyNet) is an American cable television network in over 42 million cable and satellite homes, which carries Western and rodeo sports. The network was founded in 1979 as the National Christian Network, and took the name FamilyNet in 1988 under the ownership of Jerry Falwell. It is owned by Patrick Gottsch, who also owns RFD-TV; Gottsch operates both channels under the brand Rural Media Group. The Nelons
The Nelons are an American southern gospel group based in Atlanta, Georgia. Group members are Kelly Nelon Clark, her husband Jason Clark, and Kelly's daughters Amber Nelon Kistler and Autumn Nelon Clark. The Nelons were inducted into the Gospel Music Association ( GMA) Hall of Fame in 2016. Group history The Nelons was started by founding member Rex Nelon as The Rex Nelon Singers in 1977. Southern Gospel Music Association
The Southern Gospel Music Association (''SGMA'') is a non-profit corporation formed as an association of southern gospel music singers, songwriters, fans, and industry workers. Membership is acquired and maintained through payment of annual dues. The SGMA was formed in 1994, and states that its primary goal is "to preserve, protect and promote Southern Gospel Music, its history and heritage". The Southern Gospel Music Association operates the Southern Gospel Museum and Hall of Fame in Pigeon Forge, a popular Tennessee tourist town, and also hosts the Southern Gospel Music Awards.
