Dorothy Lovett
Dorothy Lovett (February 16, 1915 – April 28, 1998) was an American film actress. Biography Early and personal life Lovett was born in Providence, Rhode Island. She married director Jack Hively (1910-1995) on December 25, 1941, while he was in the Air Force. Hively worked for RKO studios for a period. Lovett graduated from Pembroke College in Brown University with a major in sociology and a minor in psychology. Film career Lovett's best-known recurring role is that of Judy Price in ''Meet Dr. Christian'' (1939), ''Remedy for Riches'' (1940), ''The Courageous Dr. Christian'' (1940), ''Dr. Christian Meets the Women'' (1940) and '' They Meet Again'' (1941). She spent almost the whole of her career with RKO studios, debuting in 1939. She was lent to Universal Studios to make ''The Green Hornet Strikes Again'' and retired from professional life in 1943 when her RKO contract expired. ''The Green Hornet Strikes Again!'' is a 1941 Universal black-and-white 15 chapter movie serial based on ''The Green Hornet'' radio series by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker. It is a sequel to Universal's earlier serial ''The Green Hornet'' (1940). This was the 117th serial (the 49th with sound) of the 137 that Universal produced. The plot involves racketeering and is unusual for a movie serial by having mostly stand-alone chapters instead of each running into the next; this was also the case for Universal's first ''Green Hornet'' serial. RKO Radio Pictures Inc., commonly known as RKO Pictures or simply RKO, was an American film production and distribution company, one of the "Big Five" film studios of Hollywood's Golden Age. The business was formed after the Keith-Albee-Orpheum (KAO) theater chain and Joseph P. Kennedy's Film Booking Offices of America (FBO) studio were brought together under the control of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in October 1928. RCA chief David Sarnoff engineered the merger to create a market for the company's sound-on-film technology, RCA Photophone, and in early 1929 production began under the RKO name (an abbreviation of Radio-Keith-Orpheum). Plot Lois King keeps her troubled past from nightclub owner Kenny Randall, who hires her to sing at his club, The Cockatoo, and has fallen in love with her. Lois is blackmailed by Eddie, the ex-partner of her father, Red, who is in prison. Eddie and a female safecracker, Dottie Manson, will see to it that Red's sentence is extended to life unless Lois helps them rob the nightclub.
