Catherine Ives
Catherine Ives was the pen name of British writer Doris Ives Smith (1888–1951). In addition to many magazine articles, especially in ''Britannia and Eve'', Ives wrote two well-known cookbooks. Doris Buchanan Smith (June 1, 1934 – August 8, 2002) was an American author of award-winning Children's books, including ''A Taste of Blackberries'' (HarperCollins, 1973). Donna Douglas (born Doris Ione Smith; September 26, 1932 – January 1, 2015) was an American actress and singer, known for her role as Elly May Clampett on ''The Beverly Hillbillies'' (1962–1971). She is the sister of fashion designer Willi Smith. Biography Early life Smith was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to a mother who worked at a factory and a father who was a butcher. She had two brothers, Willi Smith, the designer, and Norman Smith. She attended Fashion Institute of Technology. Career Smith started her career in 1972 as a model, working for such brands as Chanel, Versace, Geoffrey Beene, Issey Miyake, Norma Kamali, Thierry Mugler, and Patrick Kelly.
