Eiði
Eiði (''Northern Faroese'' ɔiːjɪ) is a village located on the north-west tip of Eysturoy in the Faroe Islands. It is the seat of Eiði Municipality. It is located 4 km north of Ljósá and 6.5 km west of Funningur. History Eiði was first mentioned in writing early in the 14th Century, though carbon dating indicated that the village was settled by Vikings, in the 9th century. In the center of the village, is Eiði Church. It was founded on September 18, 1881 and was designed in 1879 by Danish architect Hans Christian Amberg. The LORAN-C transmitter Ejde was previously located just east of Eiði. The transmitter was deemed obsolete in 2015 and was turned off for the final time on 1 January 2016 and dismantled three years later. EB/Streymur/Skála is a Faroese women's football team based in Skála and Streymnes. The team is the result of a cooperation between the women's football departments of EB/Streymur and Skála ÍF. They won the 1. deild kvinnur for the first time in 2017, ending KÍ's run of 17 consecutive titles. KÍ Klaksvík Kvinnur is the women's football team of KÍ Klaksvík, a Faroese football club, based in Klaksvík and founded in 1904. The club plays in blue and white. Their stadium, Djúpumýra, has a capacity of 3,000. The women's team was created in 1985. It is the reigning champion of the 1. deild kvinnur and the most successful in the Faroe Islands. They have won the 1. deild for a record-breaking past 17 seasons. Argja Bóltfelag is a Faroe Islands, Faroese football (soccer), football club based in Argir. The women's team of Argja Bóltfelag play in the 1. deild kvinnur in 2020, the second division in Faroese football. They play their home games at Vika Stadium, in Argir. History Argja Bóltfelag (or AB) was founded on 15 August 1973 by Denmark, Danish resident Johnny Nyby and other football lovers on Argir. In the spring of 1974 AB got a board, composed of Johnny Nyby, Chairman; Fróði Olsen, Co-Chairman; Sonja á Argjaboða, accountant; and Kristian Arge, board writer. Havnar Bóltfelag (HB, lit. 'Harbour football club') is a Faroese football club, and is one of the oldest in the Faroe Islands. The club was founded in 1904, and is based in the city of Tórshavn. Home matches are played in Gundadalur and they compete in the Faroe Islands Premier League. History HB Tórshavn was founded in October 1904. The club's first board was elected in a meeting, on 14 November 1904. The board consisted of three people: Mads Andrias Winther, Joan Pauli Joensen and Jakup Mouritsen. The Faroe Islands women's national football team represents the Faroe Islands in women's association football and is controlled by the Faroe Islands Football Association (FSF), the governing body of all football in the Faroe Islands. The FSF became a member of International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) in 1988 and Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) in 1990. By population it remains the fourth smallest member of UEFA, which encompasses the countries of Europe.
