Doreen Keogh
Doreen Sheila Elsie Keogh (10 April 1924 – 31 December 2017) was an Irish actress of radio, stage, television and film, who was best known for roles in numerous television serials and telefilms, but most especially Concepta Riley the first barmaid, at the Rovers Return Inn in soap opera ''Coronation Street'', as an original character in 1960 until 1975. Early life Keogh was born in Dublin, Ireland, to librarian John Keogh and Alice Mullany. She attended the Holy Faith Convent school, in Clontarf, Dublin, where she first started acting, in addition to being a member of the local amateur dramatics society. Keogh left school at the age of 15 to train with the Abbey Theatre School, Dublin, before moving to London during World War II due to her father's job. Lucille Hewitt is a fictional character from the British soap opera '' Coronation Street'', played by Jennifer Moss. ''Z-Cars'' or ''Z Cars'' (pronounced "zed cars") is a British television police procedural series centred on the work of mobile uniformed police in the fictional town of Newtown, based on Kirkby, near Liverpool. Vince Powell
Vincent Joseph Powell (6 August 1928 – 13 July 2009) was a British television scriptwriter. He collaborated with a writing partner, Harry Driver, until 1973. Early life Powell was born as Vincent Joseph Smith to Roman Catholic parents in Miles Platting, Manchester. When he was five, his mother died; two years later, his father remarried. Powell began a career as a tailor following the lead of his father, while performing as a comedian in the evenings. He met Harry Driver on the local club circuit. Their performing partnership under the name Hammond and Powell lasted until 1955 when Driver's health and physical mobility became severely impaired by the onset of Poliomyelitis, polio. Frank Pemberton
Frank Pemberton (14 September 1914 – 26 March 1971) was an English stage and television actor, who after appearing in numerous series and telemovie's, got his big break, when he became best known as an original cast member of TV series '' Coronation Street'' as patriarch Frank Barlow. Biography Pemberton was born in Stretford, Lancashire, England in September 1914. He initially studied engineering at the Birmingham Technical College and afterwards joined his father's business as a sales rep. Amateur dramatics in his then home town of Marston Green led him into the theatre and a season with the Southampton Repertory Company. Annie Walker (Coronation Street)
Annie Walker (also Beaumont) is a long-standing fictional character in the ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street''. She was played by actress Doris Speed from the series' first episode in 1960 until Speed retired from the role 23 years and 1,726 episodes later in 1983. Speed appeared as a guest of honour at the 30th birthday celebration of Coronation Street in 1990 which was hosted by Cilla Black. The character of Annie has been noted as "snobbish" and "snooty" due to her condescending attitude and delusions of grandeur. Peter George Adamson (16 February 1930 – 17 January 2002) was an English actor, best known for playing Len Fairclough in ''Coronation Street'' from January 1961 to May 1983. Early life Peter George Adamson was born at 54 Hannan Road in Kensington, Liverpool, the youngest of six children. His father was a manager of a menswear shop. Adamson was evacuated to Wales with his older brother when World War II broke out. Leonard Franklin "Len" Fairclough is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'', portrayed by Peter Adamson between his introduction in 1961 and the character's axing in 1983.
