''Generations'' is an American soap opera that aired on NBC from March 27, 1989, to January 25, 1991. Elinor Donahue (born Mary Eleanor Donahue, April 19, 1937) is an American actress, best known today for playing the role of Betty Anderson, the eldest child of Jim and Margaret Anderson on the 1950s American sitcom ''Father Knows Best''. Michael Gore (born March 5, 1951) is an American composer. Gore is the younger brother of singer-songwriter Lesley Gore. Robert Gentry (September 29, 1940 – September 17, 2022) was an American actor who was known for his work on several daytime soap operas. Gentry was born in New York City on September 29, 1940.
