Doomsday Ballet
''Doomsday Ballet'' is the third studio album by Australian band Bad Dreems. Released in October 2019, it peaked at number 38 on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart, their third consecutive album to reach the top 40. At the AIR Awards of 2020, the album was nominated for Best Independent Rock Album or EP. Album details Guitarist and main songwriter Alex Cameron said, "We probably had 100 songs written, then we'd done 50 multi-track demos ourselves, and from them we chose about 25, and from those, Burke and Jack Ladder chose the final 12, so we were really confident in the songs." The band members all had day jobs in Victoria and South Australia, so writing and demoing was done in "immersive" weekends. Bad Dreems
Bad Dreems (stylised as Bad//Dreems) are an Australian rock band from Adelaide, South Australia. The band comprises Ben Marwe (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Alex Cameron (lead guitar, backing vocals), Alistair Wells (rhythm guitar, backing vocals) and Miles Wilson (drums). The band first formed in 2011, releasing their debut EP in 2013. Burke Reid
Burke Reid is an Australian–Canadian record producer/musician. Career After migrating from Canada to Australia in 1994 at the age of 14 years, Reid became one third of the band Gerling in 1997. Following the announcement of a hiatus by Gerling in 2007, Reid continued in the music industry as a record producer. The first album that Reid produced was The Mess Hall's ''Devils Elbow'' which won the Australian Music Prize (AMP) in 2007. Jack Ladder
Timothy Kenneth Rogers (born 6 April 1983), known by his stage name Jack Ladder, is an Australian rock music singer-songwriter, guitarist and composer. His music is characterised by his baritone voice and poignant observations on love and death, often featuring gallows humour. ''Gutful'' is the second studio album by Australian band Bad Dreems, released on 21 August 2015 via Ivy League Records. The album peaked at number 23 on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart. The album was recorded over 12 days with bassist James Bartold telling ''Scenestr'' that the title refers to "dissatisfaction with decisions being made and people across the world are having a gutful of everything that's going on." Badtold added, "We don't try to push a political agenda on people. Since our first record, we've tried to express our viewpoint on things that are happening in Australian society." The 2020 AIR Awards was the fourteenth annual Australian Independent Record Labels Association Music Awards ceremony (generally known as the AIR Awards). It took place on 1 October 2020 in Adelaide. The nominations were revealed on 7 July 2020, consisting of sixteen categories, up four from twelve, as was the case in 2019. The four new categories were: Best Independent Pop Album or EP, Best Independent Rock Album or EP, Best Independent Children's Album or EP, and Best Independent Soul/R&B Album or EP. Don Walker (musician)
Donald Hugh Walker (born 29 November 1951) is an Australian musician and songwriter who wrote many of the hits for Australian pub rock band Cold Chisel. Walker is considered to be one of Australia's best songwriters. In 2012 he was inducted into the Australian Songwriter's Hall of Fame. He played piano and keyboard with the Cold Chisel from 1973 to 1983, when they disbanded. He has since continued to record and tour, both solo, initially under the name Catfish and as Tex, Don and Charlie, and worked as a songwriter for others. In 2009, he released his first book. Richard Clapton describes Walker as, "the most Australian writer there has ever been. Don just digs being a sort of Beat poet, who goes around observing, especially around the streets of Kings Cross. The Angels (Australian Band)
The Angels are an Australian rock band which formed in Adelaide in 1974 as The Keystone Angels by Bernard "Doc" Neeson on lead vocals and bass guitar, John Brewster on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, his brother Rick Brewster on lead guitar and backing vocals, Peter "Charlie" King on drums. In 1976, King was replaced by Graham "Buzz" Bidstrup on drums, Chris Bailey took over bass duties so Neeson could focus solely on vocals, and they changed their name to just 'The Angels'.
