Brendan Kevin Donnelly (born July 4, 1971) is a former Major League Baseball relief pitcher. A right-hander, Donnelly pitched for twenty-one teams (two of them independents), twelve organizations, two independent leagues, eleven organized minor leagues, and both the American League and the National League. He won the World Series in 2002 with the Anaheim Angels and was on the roster for the Boston Red Sox during their 2007 World Series victory. Donnelly was also the winning pitcher of the 2003 All-Star Game. After ten seasons in minor league baseball and eight seasons in Major League Baseball, he retired in 2011. Desmond Louis Donnelly (16 October 1920 – 3 April 1974) was a British politician, author and journalist who was a member of four political parties during the course of his career, and moved between parties on five occasions. Origins Donnelly, whose ancestry was Irish, was born in Sibsagar, Assam, India, where his father was a tea planter; his mother was English and descended from a member of the Indian Civil Service. In 1928 he was the first of his family to return to Britain for his schooling in a century (accompanied by his mother; they lost contact with his father); he went to Brightlands School, Newnham-on-Severn, Gloucestershire. Charles Francis Donnelly (February 4, 1885 – May 1967) was an American educator, golfer, and college football and golf coach. He served as the head football coach at Maryland Agricultural College—now known as the University of Maryland, College Park—in 1911 and Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1913. Donnelly was also the head golf coach at the College of the Holy Cross from 1934 to 1948. Arthur Barrett Donnelly (May 31, 1875 – July 29, 1919) was a United States Army officer in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Biography Donnelly was born in St. Louis on May 31, 1875. On December 7, 1892, he enlisted in the 1st Missouri Infantry Regiment. By the Spanish–American War, Donnelly commanded his company, and by the time he participated in the Pancho Villa Expedition in 1916, he commanded his regiment. On January 8, 1917, he was promoted to Adjutant General of the Missouri National Guard, holding the rank of brigadier general. On March 25, 1917, Missouri's governor gave Donnelly an indefinite leave of absence in order to assume command of the 1st Missouri Infantry. After his appointment as a brigadier general on August 5, 1917, he commanded the 69th Infantry Brigade at what is now Fort Sill. Danny Donnelly is a Northern Irish politician who has been an Alliance Party Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for East Antrim since May 2022. He served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and as leader of the European Parliamentary Labour Party. Born in London, Donnelly was educated at St Ignatius' College in Tottenham, and then at Christ Church, Oxford.
