Dong-U College
Kyungdong University is a private University in northeastern South Korea. It has three campuses - metropol in Yangju City, medical in Wonju City and global in Goseong and Sokcho cities. About 245 instructors are employed. The current president is Seong-yong Chun (전성용). Academics Undergraduate offerings are provided through five divisions: Humanities and Social Science, Food Science, IT, Tourism, Health and Nursing, and Education, which are separated into 3 Special Campuses and 33 departments. History Its history can be traced back to 1981 when Sokcho Technical College (속초전문대학) was founded by Dr Chun Jae-wook. In 1983 it changed its name to Dong-U Technical College and in 1998 to Dong-U College. In 1997 Dr Chun founded a separate institution, Kyungdong University. In 2012 now-Ministry of Education granted merger of two institutions, Dong-U College and Kyungdong University, and the closure of Dong-U College. Yangju
Yangju () is a city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Yangju is located south of Dongducheon and north of Uijeongbu, not far from Seoul. History * 1395 - Renamed to Yangju. * January 1, 1963 - Uijeongbu is separated and becomes a city. * April 1, 1980 - Namyangju is separated and becomes a city. * July 1, 1981 - Dongducheon is separated and becomes a city. Attractions Yangju is home to the Jangheun Art Gallery, which features six exhibition halls and includes subsidiary facilities such as outdoor performances and outdoor sculptures. Yangju also has an astronomical observatory and planetarium that is open to the public. Wonju
Wonju () is the most populous city in Gangwon Province, South Korea. The city is located approximately east of Seoul. Wonju was the site of three crucial battles during the Korean War. Geography Wonju sits at the southwestern corner of Gangwon Province, bordering Gyeonggi Province to the west and North Chungcheong Province to the south. Within Gangwon, Wonju borders Yeongwol County to the east and Hoengseong County to the north. Goseong (''Goseong-gun'' ) is a county in Gangwon Province, South Korea. Prior to the 1953 Armistice which ceased the Korean War, Goseong (which is located north of the 38th parallel) was a part of North Korea. Sokcho
Sokcho ( ko, 속초; ()) is a city in Gangwon Province, South Korea. It is located in the far northeast of Gangwon. The city is a major tourist hub, and a popular gateway to nearby Seoraksan national park. Sokcho is home to the few lakes: Yeongrangho and Cheongchoho that are naturally created by the Sea of Japan It was under DPRK control from 1945 to 1950, but on August 18, 1951, the South Korean army captured it. History Sokcho originally was a part of Dongye from roughly 3rd-century BC to around early 5th-century. Sokcho started from just a fishing village with a few people around Cheongchoho.
