Donald Sumpter
Donald Sumpter (born 13 February 1943) is an English actor who has appeared in film and television since the mid-1960s. Career One of his early television appearances was the 1968 '' Doctor Who'' serial '' The Wheel in Space'' with Patrick Troughton as the Doctor. He appeared in ''Doctor Who'' again in the 1972 serial '' The Sea Devils'' with Jon Pertwee. He also appeared in the ''Doctor Who'' spin-off ''The Sarah Jane Adventures''. In 2015 he appears as the Time Lord President Rassilon in "Hell Bent". His early film work included a lead role as real life criminal Donald Neilson in the 1977 film '' The Black Panther''. He also appeared in many television films and serials, including adaptations of Dickens' novels: ''Nicholas Nickleby'' in 2001, ''Great Expectations'' in 1999 and ''Bleak House'' in 1985. ''The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'' is a 2011 neo-noir psychological thriller film based on the The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, 2005 novel by Swedish writer Stieg Larsson. It was directed by David Fincher with a screenplay by Steven Zaillian. Starring Daniel Craig as journalist Mikael Blomkvist and Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander, it tells the story of Blomkvist's investigation to find out what happened to a girl from a wealthy family who disappeared 40 years prior. He recruits the help of Salander, a computer hacker. Sony Pictures Entertainment began development on the film, a co-production of the United States, United Kingdom, Sweden and Germany, in 2009. It took the company a few months to obtain the rights to the novel, while also recruiting Zaillian and Fincher. ''Poirot'' (also known as ''Agatha Christie's Poirot'') is a British mystery drama television programme that aired on ITV from 8 January 1989 to 13 November 2013. David Suchet starred as the eponymous detective, Agatha Christie's fictional Hercule Poirot. Initially produced by LWT, the series was later produced by ITV Studios. The series also aired on VisionTV in Canada and on PBS and A&E in the United States. ''Being Human'' is a British supernatural comedy-drama television series created and written by Toby Whithouse and broadcast on BBC Three. The show blends elements of flatshare comedy and horror drama. The pilot episode starred Andrea Riseborough as Annie Sawyer (a ghost), Russell Tovey as George Sands (a werewolf), and Guy Flanagan as John Mitchell (a vampire) – all of whom are sharing accommodation and attempting as well as they can to live a "normal" life and blend in with the ordinary humans around them, striving to fit in more. Two of the main cast were replaced in the series by Aidan Turner (Mitchell) and Lenora Crichlow (Annie). Russell Tovey was the only original main cast member.
