Donald McDonald was a member of the Legislative Assembly of the First Parliament of the Province of Canada. He was elected to represent the Prescott electoral district in the first general election of 1841, and served throughout the term of the first Parliament. Donald McDonald (Ontario Politician)
Donald McDonald (1816 – January 20, 1879) was an Ontario civil engineer, land surveyor and political figure. He was a Liberal member of the Senate of Canada from 1867 to 1879. He was born in Caledonia, New York in 1816 and came to the Niagara region of Upper Canada with his family in 1823. The family later settled near Galt. McDonald studied at Upper Canada College and then apprenticed as a surveyor with his cousin, John Macdonald, working with the Canada Company. He joined the loyalist defenders of Toronto during the Upper Canada Rebellion. After he began suffering from rheumatism, McDonald stopped field work and worked as a clerk for the Canada Company, later being promoted to assistant commissioner. He was elected to the Legislative Council of the Province of Canada for Tecumseth division in 1858 and named to the Senate after Confederation. Donald McDonald Hogarth
Donald McDonald Hogarth (June 15, 1879 – June 27, 1950) was a politician and mining financier from Ontario, Canada. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario representing the riding of Port Arthur from 1911 to 1923 and again from 1926 to 1929. He served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force in World War I where he achieved the rank of Major-General. He was a well-known mining financier who founded some of the biggest gold mines in Northern Ontario. Background Hogarth was born in Osceola, Ontario in 1879, the son of William Hogarth, and was educated in Mattawa. Donald Robert McDonald (December 11, 1856 – 1923) was a contractor, farmer and politician in Ontario. He represented Glengarry from 1898 to 1902 and from 1908 to 1911 in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a Conservative. The son of D.D. McDonald, he was born in Wisconsin and was educated in Williamstown. He was married twice: first to Catherine McDonell in 1887 and then to Mary Isabella Chisholm around 1899. McDonald served as deputy reeve of Charlottenburgh township. He defeated David Murdoch McPherson to win a seat in the provincial assembly in 1898. McDonald ran unsuccessfully for the Glengarry seat in the Canadian House of Commons in 1904, losing to Jacob Schell. Donald McDonald (born 10 May 1962) is a former Australian rules footballer and coach. Playing career North Melbourne Football Club Recruited from St. Brendan's in Flemington, McDonald debuted with the North Melbourne Football Club in the VFL in 1982. He was a tall player who could play key position or in the ruck, and in 1984 won the Kangaroos' leading goalkicker award. He played in the VFL until 1992, having amassed 155 games and 165 goals.
