Captain Donald Clive Anderson (18 April 1897 – 2 January 1957)''The Times'', 3 January 1957. was an English military consultant and historian. He joined the British Indian Army before fighting in the Mesopotamia and Palestine in World War I. Anderson toured Australia before working in Sudan on ''The Four Feathers'' film in 1939, working for the Ministry of Information during World War II, and following the war working on Festival of Britain. Early life Donald Anderson was born in Cookham, England. He probably attended the Quetta cadet college. He was commissioned on to the Unattached List, British Indian Army on 15 November 1915, was admitted to the British Indian Army on 18 November and was attached to 122nd Rajputana Infantry. The regiment was stationed in India at Kohat until late 1916, entraining on 1 November 1916, embarking on 3 November 1916 and landing at Basra, Mesopotamia, on 8 November 1916. Sir Donald George Anderson (1 March 191730 November 1975) was a senior Australian public servant. He was Director-General of the Department of Civil Aviation from January 1956 until September 1973. Life and career Anderson was born to parents Clara Catherine Anderson (née Nash) and Alex Gibb Anderson in Waikerie, South Australia on 1 March 1917. He was schooled at Adelaide High School and the University of Adelaide. On 1 January 1956, Anderson began his term as Director-General of the Department of Civil Aviation. Donald Anderson, Baron Anderson of Swansea (born 17 June 1939) is a Welsh Labour politician, who was one of the longest-serving Members of Parliament in recent years, his service totalling 34 years. Since 2005, he has served as a Labour peer in the House of Lords. Education Anderson was born in Swansea and educated at the local Brynmill Primary School and Swansea Grammar School before studying at Swansea University. Political career He entered the House of Commons in 1966 for Monmouth until being defeated in 1970 by the Conservative John Stradling Thomas. From 1971 to 1974, he was a resident in Kensington and Chelsea and councillor in a neighbouring borough. He then re-entered the Commons in October 1974, as MP for Swansea East. He was sworn of the Privy Council in 2000, and retired from Parliament at the 2005 general election. In 2003, he voted in favour of the Iraq War.
