Donald's Vacation
''Donald's Vacation'' is a Donald Duck cartoon made by The Walt Disney Company and released by RKO Pictures on August 9, 1940. The film, which was directed by Jack King, shows Donald Duck having many troubles with the outdoors when he goes on vacation. Plot Donald Duck is taking a vacation in a canoe. He is shown to walk over rocks while playing a guitar when the canoe can't go, since his feet and legs are sticking out the bottom of it. While playing his guitar, he unwittingly goes through a small waterfall. He coughs violently and shakes water off, and gets a fish in his instrument, but he quickly calms down. However, just as he continues playing, he goes over a waterfall and falls to the bottom. After a furious outburst, he emerges from the water with the canoe on his back like a turtle's shell. Arriving at his campsite, he pulls a lever which ejects all the supplies he brought along. He then converts the canoe into a tent and puts down a sign that says ''Camp Peaceful.'' He g ... James Patton "Jack" King (November 4, 1895 – October 4, 1958)Lenburg (2006), pp. 179-180 was an American animator and short film director best known for his work at Walt Disney Productions. Career According to Jeff Lenburg's assessment of him, King was an early pioneer of animation. His films were nominated three times for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. He started his career in the silent film era. He spent most of his career working at Walt Disney Productions (later known as the Walt Disney Animation Studios). He directed many well-regarded films. Anthropomorphism is the attribution of human traits, emotions, or intentions to non-human entities. It is considered to be an innate tendency of human psychology. ''Chip an' Dale'' is a 1947 animated short film produced in Technicolor by Walt Disney Productions and released to theaters by RKO Radio Pictures. The film depicts Donald Duck's first encounter with the two chipmunks Chip 'n' Dale when he unknowingly chops down their tree for firewood. The title of the film is the first appearance of the names of the two chipmunk characters who previously appeared without names in ''Private Pluto'' (1943) and ''Squatter's Rights'' (1946). Chip and Dale (also spelled Chip 'n' Dale) is a cartoon duo of anthropomorphic chipmunks created in 1943 by The Walt Disney Company. Concept The characters were first drawn by Bill Justice and introduced in the 1943 Pluto short ''Private Pluto'', directed by Clyde Geronimi. In the short, they fight with Pluto about whether they can store their nuts in a military base cannon. Three years later, director Jack Hannah decided to use them as co-stars in Donald Duck shorts.
