Don Scott (Alberta Politician)
Keith Donald Charles Scott (born c. 1966) is a Canadian lawyer and former politician who served as the mayor of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, and as an MLA and Cabinet minister for the Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta. He currently works for the Métis Nation of Alberta as an executive director. Political career Municipal councillor Scott was elected as a Ward 1 councillor for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo during the October 2010 election, and was one of six councillors representing Fort McMurray. During his term he also sat on the board for the Wood Buffalo Housing and Development Corporation (WBEDC), a subsidized housing organization in Fort McMurray. Fort McMurray ( ) is an urban service area in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo in Alberta, Canada. It is located in northeast Alberta, in the middle of the Athabasca oil sands, surrounded by boreal forest. It has played a significant role in the development of the national petroleum industry. The 2016 Fort McMurray wildfire led to the evacuation of its residents and caused widespread damage. Formerly a city, Fort McMurray became an urban service area when it amalgamated with Improvement District No. 143 on April 1, 1995, to create the Municipality of Wood Buffalo (renamed the RM of Wood Buffalo on August 14, 1996). The ''Fort McMurray Today'' is a publication based in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. It is considered the paper of record for Fort McMurray and covers a number of topics affecting the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. The daily newspaper was founded in 1974 after Bowes Publishing bought the weekly McMurray Courier, a weekly newspaper founded in 1970 by Frances Jean. Ownership transferred to Sun Media in 1988, which was then bought by Postmedia in 2014. In 2017, the newspaper's coverage of the 2016 Fort McMurray Wildfire won a National Newspaper Award for breaking news. Lac La Biche-St
Lac is the resinous secretion of a number of species of lac insects, of which the most commonly cultivated is ''Kerria lacca''. Cultivation begins when a farmer gets a stick that contains eggs ready to hatch and ties it to the tree to be infested. Thousands of lac insects colonize the branches of the host trees and secrete the resinous pigment. The coated branches of the host trees are cut and harvested as sticklac. The harvested sticklac is crushed and sieved to remove impurities. The sieved material is then repeatedly washed to remove insect parts and other material. The resulting product is known as seedlac. The prefix ''seed'' refers to its pellet shape. Seedlac, which still contains 3–5% impurity, is processed into shellac by heat treatment or solvent extraction. Shayne Saskiw (born August 13, 1981) is a Canadian politician who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta representing the electoral district of Lac La Biche-St. Paul-Two Hills in the 2012 provincial election. Air medical services is a comprehensive term covering the use of air transportation, aeroplane or helicopter, to move patients to and from healthcare facilities and accident scenes. Personnel provide comprehensive prehospital and emergency and critical care to all types of patients during aeromedical evacuation or rescue operations aboard helicopter and propeller aircraft or jet aircraft. Edmonton City Centre Airport (ECCA), also called Blatchford Field as well as Edmonton Municipal Airport, was an airport within the city of Edmonton, in Alberta, Canada.
