Don McLennan
Don McLennan (born 1950) is an Australian film director, scriptwriter and producer. He was born in Leeton, NSW, Australia. He grew up on an island and was educated at Marist College, a boarding school in Tasmania. After he graduated he went to work at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in 1967. He worked for leading Australian production companies such as Fauna Productions, Grundy Productions, Crawford Productions, Lewis Young Productions as an assistant director and producer before making his first film, a short drama, ''Point of Departure'' in 1972. In 1975 he produced his first feature film ''Apostasy''. He established his name in the Australian film industry with the award-winning feature '' Hard Knocks'' which he co-wrote, co-produced and directed. Montreal World Film Festival
The Montreal World Film Festival (WFF; french: le Festival des Films du Monde) was one of Canada's oldest international film festivals and the only competitive film festival in North America accredited by the FIAPF (although the Toronto International Film Festival is North America's only accredited non-competitive festival). The public festival, which was founded in 1977 as a replacement for the defunct Montreal International Film Festival (1960–68), is held annually in late August in the city of Montreal in Quebec. Unlike the Toronto International Film Festival, which has a greater focus on Canadian and other North American films, the Montreal World Film Festival has a larger diversity of films from all over the world. Dimension Films is an American film production company owned by Lantern Entertainment. The BFI London Film Festival is an annual film festival founded in 1957 and held in the United Kingdom, running for two weeks in October with co-operation from the British Film Institute. It screens more than 300 films, documentaries and shorts from approximately 50 countries. ''Mull'' is a 1988 Australian drama film directed by Don McLennan. The film is based on the popular 1986 book, ''Mullaway'' by Bronwen 'Bron' Nichols. Plot A sixteen-year-old teenage girl ( Nadine Garner) is forced to care for her family, when her mother ( Sue Jones) finds out she is dying of Hodgkin’s disease. The family consists of her father ( Bill Hunter) a reformed alcoholic and recently born-again Christian, her heroin-dabbling closet gay older brother (Craig Morrison), and two trying younger siblings (Bradley Kilpatrick and Kymara Stowers) all packed into a rented flat in the Melbourne bayside suburb of St Kilda.
