Don Martina
Dominico Felipe "Don" Martina (born 1 May 1935) is a Curaçaoan politician. He served two terms as List of Prime Ministers of the Netherlands Antilles, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles. His first term lasted from November 1979 to October 1984 and his second term from January 1986 to July 1988. One of the founders of the Partido MAN, Martina led his party in multiple cabinets. During his first term as Prime Minister he dealt with discussions regarding Aruba's wish to leave the Netherlands Antilles. At the start of his second term Aruba left, which, together with other circumstances, forced Martina to take austerity measures. Early life and career Martina was born on Curaçao on 1 May 1935. Claude Wathey
Claude Wathey (full name Albert Claudius Wathey; 24 July 1926 – January 1998), was a prominent politician of the Democratic Party Sint Maarten, Democratic Party from the island of Sint Maarten. He was knighted by the Dutch Crown for his political longevity. Wathey championed political independence for the island in 1989, but was later convicted on charges of perjury; however, many on Sint Maarten felt the trial was nothing more than a witch hunt conducted by his rivals and adversaries in Curaçao and the Netherlands in order to break his monopoly on political power in Sint Maarten and to destroy his credibility. ''Status aparte'' refers to the special status of Aruba between 1986 and 2010 as a constituent country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, separate from the Netherlands Antilles to which it belonged until 1986. Alphonsus Petrus Johannes Mathildus Maria "Fons" van der Stee (30 July 1928 – 9 September 1999) was a Dutch politician of the defunct Catholic People's Party (KVP) and later the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) party and economist. Van der Stee applied at the Radboud University Nijmegen in June 1950 majoring in Tax law and obtaining a Bachelor of Laws degree in June 1952 before graduating with a Master of Laws degree on 29 February 1956. Round Table (discussion)
Round table is a form of academic discussion. Participants agree on a specific topic to discuss and debate. Each person is given equal right to participate, as illustrated by the idea of a circular layout referred to in the term round table. Round-table discussions, together with houses of hospitality and agronomic universities, is one of the key elements of the Catholic Worker Movement, as formulated by Peter Maurin, one of the co-founders of the movement. Round table discussions are also a common feature of political talk shows. Talk shows such as ''Washington Week'' and ''Meet the Press'' have roundtables of reporters or pundits. The Democratic Party ( pap, Partido Democraat, nl, Democratische Partij) is a liberal party in Curaçao founded in 1944. The party has participated in elections for the Estates of the Netherlands Antilles (Curaçao constituency) and the Island Council of Curaçao until the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010, obtaining a single seat in the island council in 2007. By obtaining 1019 registrations of support, the party qualified (a minimum of 743 was required) for participation in the Curaçao General Election of 2012 on 19 October in a combined list with Laboral named Partido Democrat Laboral, where it obtained 1.2% of the votes but failed to obtain any seats. In the primary elections of 2016, the party received 1094 votes, again sufficient for participation, but did not end up winning any seats.
