Don Highsmith
Donald Cornelius Highsmith (born March 12, 1948) is a former professional American football running back in the National Football League (NFL). He played four seasons for the Green Bay Packers and the Oakland Raiders. Highsmith went on to play for the Charlotte Hornets in the World Football League (WFL) and led the team in rushing. He was an all star. He went to Michigan State University on a Track and Field Scholarship although he was an outstanding running back for New Brunswick High School in his hometown of New Brunswick, New Jersey. Running Back
A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive American football plays#Offensive terminology, handoffs from the quarterback to Rush (American football)#Offense, rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and Blocking (American football), block. There are usually one or two running backs on the field for a given play, depending on the offensive formation. Michigan State University
Michigan State University (Michigan State, MSU) is a public university, public Land-grant university, land-grant research university in East Lansing, Michigan. It was founded in 1855 as the Agricultural College of the State of Michigan, the first of its kind in the United States. Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills. The name is derived from where the sport takes place, a running track and a grass field for the throwing and some of the jumping events. Track and field is categorized under the umbrella sport of athletics, which also includes road running, cross country running and racewalking. The foot racing events, which include sprints, middle- and long-distance events, racewalking, and hurdling, are won by the athlete who completes it in the least time. The jumping and throwing events are won by those who achieve the greatest distance or height.
