Don Donovan
Don Donovan (23 December 1929 – 26 September 2013) was an Irish professional football player and manager. Career He was a right back who played for Everton F.C. and Grimsby Town. Donovan joined Everton in 1951 from junior football in Ireland and went on to play 187 times for The Toffees scoring just twice. In August 1958, he was transferred to Grimsby Town for a fee of £5,000 where he played until 1964 before becoming player manager of Boston United. He was a huge success at Boston, winning League titles in each of his three seasons with the club. Cork (city)
Cork ( , from , meaning 'marsh') is the second largest city in Ireland and third largest city by population on the island of Ireland. It is located in the south-west of Ireland, in the province of Munster. Following an extension to the city's boundary in 2019, its population is over 222,000. Keeley Emma Donovan (born 14 May 1983) is an English journalist and broadcaster, working for the BBC as a weather presenter for television and radio stations in the North of England. Early life Donovan was born in Grimsby and grew up in nearby Tetney. Her father, Terry Donovan, was from Liverpool and played professional football for Grimsby Town, Aston Villa, Burnley, Rotherham United, and the Republic of Ireland. Her Irish grandfather, Don Donovan, played for both Grimsby Town and the Republic of Ireland. He managed Boston United from 1965 to 1969. She attended the Humberston School. She did a course in media at Franklin Sixth Form College in Grimsby, then studied for a BA at De Montfort University in Leicester. A weather presenter (also known colloquially in North America as a weatherman or weather broadcaster) is a person who presents the weather forecast daily on radio, television or internet news broadcasts. Using diverse tools, such as projected weather maps, they inform the viewers of the current and future weather conditions, explain the reasons underlying this evolution, and relay to the public any weather hazards and warnings issued for their region, country or larger areas. There are no basic qualifications to become a weather presenter; depending on the country and the media, it can range from an introduction to meteorology for a television host to a diploma in meteorology from a recognized university. Terry Donovan (footballer)
Terry Donovan (born 27 February 1958) is a former footballer who played as a striker. Born in England, he made two appearances for the Republic of Ireland national team at international level. Career Donovan played for Grimsby Town, Aston Villa, Oxford United (loan), Portland Timbers, Burnley and Rotherham United during his club career and also played for Ireland's national team on two occasions. He joined Villa for £72,000 in 1979 after establishing himself as a prolific scorer during three seasons with his hometown club Grimsby Town, helping them gain promotion from the Fourth Division. Donovan contributed two goals in Villa's 5 – 0 victory over Valur in the early stages of 1981–82 European Cup. Villa went on to win the tournament. Boston United Football Club is a semi-professional association football club based in Boston, Lincolnshire, England. The club participates in the National League North, at the sixth tier of the English football league system.
