Don Day
Donald Day (19 February 1924 – 18 May 2010) was an Australian politician and member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly representing the electorates of Casino (1971–1981) and Clarence (1981–1984) for the Labor Party. Day held a range of Ministerial responsibilities in the government of Neville Wran. Early years and background Day was born in Melbourne, Victoria. His father, Alfred Day, was an engineer. Referring to his early years, Day was quoted as: I grew up in the metropolitan area of Melbourne during the depression. My father deserted us when we were kids, so we had a fairly rough upbringing; my mother had to bring up three of us without the benefit of any deserted wives' pension. We scrabbled very hard and that sort of builds a fire in your guts. It leaves a mark on you really that never leaves you. Matthew Singleton (born 14 September 1927) is a former Australian politician. He was the National Party of Australia – NSW, Country then National Party member for Electoral district of Clarence, Clarence from 1971 to 1981 and for Electoral district of Coffs Harbour, Coffs Harbour from 1981 to 1990 in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly. Ken Gabb
Kenneth George Gabb (born 4 December 1949) is a former Australian politician. He was the Labor member for Earlwood in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1978 to 1988, and a state minister from 1986 to 1988. Gabb was born in Earlwood, New South Wales, to Loyal Leslie Gabb and Joyce Edna McCartney. He attended Canterbury Boys High School (1962–67) before studying for a Bachelor of Law at Sydney University (1968–72). He underwent further study at the University of New South Wales from 1973 to 1977, and was called to the bar in 1980. On 6 December 1985 he married Elisabeth Faith Williams in Sydney Gabb had joined the Labor Party in 1971, and in 1978 former Liberal Premier Eric Willis resigned from parliament, creating a by-election for his seat of Earlwood. George Paciullo
George Paciullo, OAM (; 20 February 19349 October 2012) was an Australian politician. He was the Labor member for Liverpool in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1971 to 1989, and served as a minister from 1984 to 1988. Paciullo was born in Sydney to market gardener Sisto Paciullo and his wife Immacolata, who had come to Australia from Calabria during the Great Depression. He attended public schools at Liverpool and Homebush, and was employed as a survey draftsmen with the New South Wales Soil Conservation Service upon his graduation in 1951. He underwent national service in 1952 and subsequently served in the Citizen Military Forces for three years. In 1958, he joined the Labor Party, and the following year was elected to Liverpool City Council. On 3 November 1964, he married Janette Blinman, with whom he had a son named Murray. David Bruce Cowan AM (15 January 1926 – 7 April 2011) was an Australian politician and Minister of the Crown in the cabinets of Tom Lewis and Sir Eric Willis. He was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for 14 years from 6 November 1965 until his resignation on 29 August 1980 and then for 13 years in the Australian House of Representatives for Lyne for the Country Party of Australia and its successors, the National Country and then National Parties. Jack Rowland Hallam (born 10 September 1942), a former Australian politician, was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council from 1973 to 1991 representing the ALP. Hallam held several ministerial posts in the state governments led by Neville Wran and Barrie Unsworth.
