Don Davis (linebacker)
Donald Earl Davis Jr. (born December 17, 1972) is a former American football player and former team chaplain for the New England Patriots. High school years Davis attended Olathe South High School in Olathe, Kansas, and was a student and a letterman in football, basketball, and track & field. In football, as a senior, he was a first-team All-League selection and a second-team All-Metropolitan selection. College years Davis was a three-year starter for the University of Kansas, and finished his superb career with 238 tackles (20 tackles for loss) and 9.5 sacks. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). 2008 New England Patriots Season
The 2008 season was the New England Patriots' 39th in the National Football League (NFL) and their 49th overall. The Patriots were defending AFC champions. The 2002 NFL season was the 83rd regular season of the National Football League. The league went back to an even number of teams with the addition of the Houston Texans; the league has remained static with 32 teams since. The clubs were realigned into eight divisions, four teams in each. Also, the Chicago Bears played their home games in 2002 in Champaign, Illinois at Memorial Stadium because of the reconstruction of Soldier Field. The 1998 NFL season was the 79th regular season of the National Football League.
