Don Currivan
Donald F. Currivan (March 6, 1920 – May 16, 1956) was an American football end. He was born and raised in Mansfield, Massachusetts and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1938. He then attended and graduated from Boston College in 1942. Fleet of foot and sure of hand, this All-American end's pass- catching and running abilities were key factors in boosting the Eagles to national rankings and berths in the 1941 Sugar Bowl and 1943 Orange Bowl. A stalwart defensive end as well, he was a major and versatile contributor to this great era of Boston College gridiron success. He played seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Chicago Cardinals (1943), the Boston Yanks (1945–1948), and the Los Angeles Rams (1948–1949). End (American Football)
An end in American and Canadian football is a player who lines up at either end of the line of scrimmage, usually beside the tackles. Rules state that a legal offensive formation must always consist of seven players on the line of scrimmage and that the player on the end of the line constitutes an eligible receiver. Before the advent of two platoons, in which teams fielded distinct defensive and offensive units, players that lined up on the ends of the line on both offense and defense were referred to simply as "ends". Card-Pitt Players
Card-Pitt was the team created by the temporary merger of two National Football League (NFL) teams, the Chicago Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers, during the 1944 season. It was the second such merger for the Steelers, who had combined with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1943 to form the "Steagles". The arrangement was made necessary by the loss of numerous players to World War II military service, and was dissolved upon completion of the season. Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), also known as cerebral bleed, intraparenchymal bleed, and hemorrhagic stroke, or haemorrhagic stroke, is a sudden bleeding into the tissues of the brain, into its ventricles, or into both.
