Donald James Yarmy (April 13, 1923 – September 25, 2005), known professionally as Don Adams, was an American actor. In his five decades on television, he was best known as Maxwell Smart (Agent 86) in the television situation comedy ''Get Smart'' (1965–1970, 1995), which he also sometimes directed and wrote. Adams won three consecutive Emmy Awards for his performance in the series (1967–1969). Adams also provided the voices for the animated series ''Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales'' (1963–1966) and ''Inspector Gadget'' (1983–1986) as well as several revivals and spinoffs of the latter in the 1990s. Charles Donald Adams (20 December 1928 – 8 April 1996) was an English opera singer and actor, best known for his performances in bass-baritone roles of the Savoy operas with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company and his own company, Gilbert and Sullivan for All. Adams began his career with the BBC Repertory Company in 1944. Among other early performances, he was leading man for two years at the Little Theatre, Great Yarmouth. In 1951, he joined the D'Oyly Carte organisation and soon began to play roles, becoming the company's principal bass until 1969. With Thomas Round and Norman Meadmore, he formed the touring company, Gilbert and Sullivan for All, in which he continued to sing bass and bass-baritone roles as well as directing. By the early 1980s, Adams was performing in opera and operetta throughout Britain and abroad, continuing nearly until his death. Don Adams (boxer)
Don "The Bull" Adams (born c.1930) was a bare-knuckle boxer, from Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, England. In addition he was known as King of the Gypsies. At least one of his fights was detected by the authorities. Hertfordshire Constabulary reported a planned fight at Holborn Stud Farm on Sunday, 26 October 1975, between Don “The Bull” Adams and Roy “Pretty Boy” Shaw, promoted by Adams’ trainer Tom “The Bear” Brown. Donny Adams's second for the fight was an Ex RAF policeman named Huw Rees. This fight was banned, but must have taken place later, as Shaw was reported later to have beaten Adams. Shaw won the bout in the first round. Before that fight Adams had 48 bare knuckle fights and won them all. Adams had three children, a son called Donnie and two daughters, Amanda and Chrystal. Born in Atlanta, Adams attended Northwestern University and was selected in the 8th round of the 1970 NBA draft by the San Diego Rockets. Donald Frederick Adams (15 February 1931–1993) was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League, as a forward. Don was the son of a former Northampton Town footballer by the name of Fred Adams who played in the 1920s, and lived in Clark Road Northampton, the garden backing onto the old county ground Don spent many hours as a youngster at the football ground, not only watching but also training. As a youth he played for a local youth team, the 6th Northampton company of the Boys Brigade based in Kingsley. Don was introduced to the Cobblers one day when attending an injury clinic and got talking to Jack Jennings who had Tommy Mulgrew under treatment at the time. Don explained that he was on amateur forms with Chelsea, so it was suggested that he went along to the cobblers for a trial when he was fit again. Don Patrick "Bandy" Adams (15 February 1934 – 4 March 2020) was an Australian rugby league player. Born in Maitland, Adams was a stocky winger known for his career as a player/coach across the Hunter Valley during the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. He went by the nickname "Bandy" and made 191 appearances for his hometown side the Maitland Pickers. After making his first-grade debut for Maitland in a grand final at the age of 17, Adams began his representative career in 1955 with appearances for both New South Wales and NSW Country. Adams was a member of the Australia team for all three of their 1956 home Test matches against New Zealand, scoring two tries on debut, including a last-minute match-winner. Donald Gilbert Adams (born December 18, 1938) is a Texas politician, attorney, and lobbyist who was president pro tempore of the Texas Senate, and a member of the Texas Senate, District 3. He also served in the Texas House of Representatives for District 7. Personal life and education Donald Gilbert Adams was born December 18, 1938 in Jasper, Texas to T. Gilbert Adams and Dess Hart Adams. His father was a county judge. In 1963, Adams graduated from Baylor University and Baylor Law School with a BBA and LLB. After attending university, he practiced law in Lufkin, Texas for two years before returning to Jasper where he formed a legal partnership with his father.
