Don't Call Me Little Girl
''Don't Call Me Little Girl'' is a 1921 American silent comedy film directed by Joseph Henabery and starring Mary Miles Minter. It was adapted by Edith Kennedy from the stage play "Jerry" by Catherine Chisholm Cushing. As with many of Minter's features, it is thought to be a lost film. Plot As described in various film magazine reviews, Jerry Doubleday (Minter) is an eighteen-year-old girl, who arrives with her mother to stay with her aunt Joan (Stonehouse) ahead of her wedding. Aunt Joan's engagement to Monty Wade (Patrick) has gone on for ten years but the wedding seems on course to finally take place - until Jerry has other ideas. Determined to prove to her mother that she is no longer a little girl, Jerry arrives at the station dressed in the most modern fashions, and immediately "borrows" an automobile to take for a spin. Joseph Henabery
Joseph Henabery (January 15, 1888 – February 18, 1976) of Omaha, Nebraska, was a film actor, screenplay writer, and director in the United States. He is best known for his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln in D.W. Griffith's controversial 1915 silent historical epic ''The Birth of a Nation''. Early years Henabery was born in Omaha and raised in Los Angeles. He began acting as an amateur in California. Before he worked in films, Henabery worked for the San Pedro, Los Angeles, Salt Lake Railroad. When he was 25 years old, he became an extra for Universal Pictures. Career Henabery's acting career began in ''The Joke on Yellentown'' (1914). From 1914 to 1917 he appeared in seventeen films, including his portrayal of Lincoln in ''The Birth of a Nation''. Fanny Midgley (born Fanny B. Frier; November 26, 1879 – January 4, 1932) was an American film actress of Hollywood's early years, mostly in silent films. Biography Midgley was born Fanny B. Frier on November 26, 1879, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Midgley's work on stage included portraying Mopsa in the Broadway production ''The Free Lance'' (1906). Midgley's first feature film was ''Shorty Escapes Marriage'' (1914). In 1914 alone, she had 27 film appearances, including ''The Sheriff of Bisbee'', in which she starred with actress Mildred Harris, the future mother of Charlie Chaplin's first child. From 1915 through 1919, she appeared in another 32 films, mostly in supporting roles. Winifred Greenwood (January 1, 1885 – November 23, 1961) was an American silent film actress. Born in 1885 in Geneseo, New York, Greenwood studied to be a teacher but left New York Normal School to perform in vaudeville in the United States and Canada. Greenwood's career began in vaudeville, performing with the Kings Carnival Company in Canada and the United States. She went on to act with stock theater companies, one of which she headed. She was signed in 1910 and starred in over 200 films before her retirement in 1927. She starred in a number of films with Charlotte Burton including ''The Shriner's Daughter'' in 1913. She was married to actor George Field from 1913 to 1918. She died in 1961, age 76 in Woodland Hills, California.
