Dominique Benicheti
Dominique Benichetti (16 May 1943 - 29 July 2011) was a French film director and producer known for documentaries, pioneering work on 3D film, animation, and special projects. Early life Dominique was born in Paris in 1943. He studied at the National School for Applied Arts, the National Superior School of Fine Arts, and the Institute for Advanced Cinematographic Studies (IDHEC) in Animation. Career Over the course of his professional life, Benichetti directed and produced more than 30 films. He worked on documentaries, educational, scientific, institutional, and corporate films. He was active in animation, and was a creative and technical consultant on many 3D and large format (70mm) film projects. He advised on 3D technology for The Futuroscope Park in Poitiers, France. A film producer is a person who oversees film production. Either employed by a production company or working independently, producers plan and coordinate various aspects of film production, such as selecting the script, coordinating writing, directing, editing, and arranging financing. The producer is responsible for finding and selecting promising material for development. Unless the film is based on an existing script, the producer hires a screenwriter and oversees the script's development. Animator
An animator is an artist who creates multiple images, known as frames, which give an illusion of movement called animation when displayed in rapid sequence. Animators can work in a variety of fields including film, television, and video games. Animation is closely related to filmmaking and like filmmaking is extremely labor-intensive, which means that most significant works require the collaboration of several animators. The methods of creating the images or frames for an animation piece depend on the animators' artistic styles and their field. 63rd Berlin International Film Festival
The 63rd annual Berlin International Film Festival took place in Berlin, Germany between 7 and 17 February 2013. Chinese film director Wong Kar-wai was announced as the President of the Jury and his film '' The Grandmaster'' was the opening film of the festival. The Golden Bear was awarded to the Romanian film '' Child's Pose'' directed by Călin Peter Netzer, which also served as the closing film. Vulcania
Vulcania, the "European Park of Volcanism", is an educational French amusement park and museum with a volcano theme. Situated in Saint-Ours-les-Roches, Auvergne, 15 km north-west of Clermont-Ferrand, it was officially inaugurated in 2002. History The project was the brainchild of French volcanologist, Maurice Krafft, who died at Mount Unzen in 1991. Krafft and his work had a great impact on the former President of France, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, who pushed for the construction of the park while he was President of the Regional Council of Auvergne. Criticism The project has faced criticism from its very inception. The strong involvement of the former president added a political dimension to the economic, technical and environmental issues.
