Dominic Gilbert
Dominic Gilbert (born 28 September 1996) is an Australian-Croatian professional basketball player for Eastern Sports Club (basketball), Eastern of the ASEAN Basketball League. Standing tall, he plays in Forward (basketball position), forward positions. Early life and professional career Gilbert was born in Hong Kong, where his parents lived for several years. He was raised in Sydney, Australia. He studied at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada when he decided to pursue a career in professional basketball in Croatia, country of his mother's origin. After playing in KK Kvarner 2010, Kvarner 2010 and KK Šanac Karlovac, Šanac Karlovac, in 2017 he signed for KK Cibona, Cibona. In May 2019, he scored the decisive points in the last moments of the 4th game of the final series of the 2018–19 Premijer liga, 2018–19 Croatian League, taking the title for KK Cibona, Cibona. Forward (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Over time, as more specialized roles developed, each of the guards and forwards came to be differentiated, and today each of the five positions are known by unique names, each of which has also been assigned a number: point guard (PG) or 1, the shooting guard (SG) or 2, the small forward (SF) or 3, the power forward (PF) or 4, and the center (C) or 5.
