Dominic Corrigan (Gaelic Footballer)
Dominic "Dom" Corrigan (born 1962) is a Gaelic footballer and manager. He played for Kinawley and the Fermanagh county team. He later managed the Fermanagh and Sligo teams. Family life Corrigan received his education at St Aidan's in Derrylin and at St Michael's College, Enniskillen (where he would later go on to teach at). He then went to Jordanstown, winning an All-Ireland Colleges Trench Cup medal in 1984. He moved home to Enniskillen in 1987. A member of a family of eight, Corrigan married Mary (''née'' McCabe) from Aghadrumsee. Their first child, Tomás Corrigan, would go on to play for Fermanagh. He has another son, Ruáirí, also a Gaelic footballer. Playing career Corrigan is a Kinawley clubman. He made his debut for Kinawley as an eleven-year-old goalkeeper in 1973. Gaelic Football
Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). In the game, two types of scores are possible: points and goals. A point is awarded for kicking or hand-passing the ball over the crossbar , signalled by the umpire raising a white flag. James Kearins
James Kearins is a former Gaelic footballer. Kearins played for St Patrick's football club and was manager of the Sligo county team. Mickey Kearins is a brother of James Kearins. James Kearins played for Sligo from 1974 until 1987. In 1975 he won a Connacht Senior Football Championship medal. In 1995 Kearins led Ballymote to a Sligo Intermediate Football Championship. In 2000 Kearins led Bunninadden to their first Sligo Senior Football Championship title in over eight decades. In 2003 he was appointed manager of Sligo’s senior football team, a position that involves setting game strategies and supervising the team’s coach. He was simultaneously made manager of Sligo’s team for players under age 21. Kearins resigned as Sligo manager at the end of 2004, reportedly over a disagreement about the inaugural Tommy Murphy Cup. Charlie Mulgrew (Gaelic Footballer)
Charlie Mulgrew (born 1960s) is an Irish Gaelic football manager and former player from County Donegal. Playing Mulgrew played for his school team, St Eunan's College. He repeated his Leaving Certificate at the College in 1978-79, playing for the team that won a MacLarnon Cup and All-Ireland B Final (Donegal's first ever title at All-Ireland level). He played his club football for St Eunan's. He won the 1982 All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship with the Donegal county team. He played for the Donegal senior team between 1981 and 1992, winning the Sam Maguire Cup that year, as well as Ulster Senior Football Championship titles in 1983, 1990 and 1992. He sustained a broken jaw in the 1983 Ulster semi-final defeat of Monaghan. John Maughan
John Maughan (born 1962) is an Irish Gaelic football manager and former player who most recently managed the Offaly football team. He is a former manager of the Mayo, Clare, Roscommon and Fermanagh senior football teams. He is only the third man to lead five different counties and the first to complete a "slam", with at least one of these counties coming from each of Ireland's four provinces. The Leitrim Senior Football Championship is an annual football competition contested by top-tier Leitrim GAA clubs. Ballinamore Seán O'Heslin's Gaelic Athletic Association is a Gaelic football, hurling and ladies' Gaelic football club based in Ballinamore, County Leitrim, Republic of Ireland. Killyclogher St Mary's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Killyclogher in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland.
