Dom Casual
Dom Casual is an American typeface designed in 1951 by Peter Dombrezian. It is an informal design that emulates brush script. Dom Casual has been used often in television credits, such as on ''Bewitched'', ''Barney Miller'', ''Sesame Street'' (from 1992 to 2002) and ''Only Fools And Horses'', as well as 1960-64 Warner Bros. Cartoons, Warner Bros. cartoons, and is currently used in various labels on ''The Price Is Right (U.S. game show), The Price Is Right''. Other TV shows which have used it include ''Bill Nye the Science Guy'', ''Sesame Street'' episodes from 1992 to 2006, the first season of ''Inspector Gadget'', the Bob Saget era of ''America's Funniest Home Videos'' and ''Full House (TV series), Full House''. In business and commerce, The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company ("A&P") used it in their instore broadsheet signage and in newspaper advertising into the mid-1970s and Menards has also used it inside its stores. American Type Founders
American Type Founders (ATF) Co. was a business trust created in 1892 by the merger of 23 type foundries, representing about 85% of all type manufactured in the United States. De Vinne, Theodore Low, ''The Practice of Typography,'' Century Company, N.Y.C., 1922, p. 105. The new company, consisting of a consolidation of firms from throughout the United States, was incorporated in New Jersey. The American Type Founders Co. should not be confused with the American Type Founders’ Association—also called the Type Founders' Association of the United States. Both institutions are identified by the same acronym, ATF. The ATF Association was formed in 1864 and was responsible for establishing the American point system in 1886 based on 35 picas exactly equal to 35 cm. The ATF Co. was not formed until 1892. Microsoft Bob is a Microsoft software product intended to provide a more user-friendly interface for the Windows 3.1x, Windows 95 and Windows NT operating systems, supplanting the Windows Program Manager. The program was released on March 11, 1995, and discontinued in early 1996. Microsoft Bob presented screens showing a "house", with "rooms" that the user could go to containing familiar objects corresponding to computer applications—for instance, a desk with pen and paper, a checkbook, and other items. In this case, clicking on the pen and paper would open the word processor. A cartoon dog named Rover and other cartoon characters provided guidance using speech balloons. Upon release, Microsoft Bob was criticized in the media and did not gain wide acceptance with users, which resulted in its discontinuation.
