Dolores Abril
Dolores Caballero Abril (9 May 1935 – 25 October 2020) was a Spanish singer and actress. Biography Dolores Abril specialized in the genre of copla. She was romantically and professionally partnered with singer-songwriter Juanito Valderrama from 1954 until his death in 2004. Together they released numerous albums, most notably ''Peleas en broma'', and toured Spain with various shows such as ''Voces de España'' (1962), ''Mano a mano'' (1963), ''Su Majestad la alegría'' (1967), and ''Revolera en el Price'' (1968). Among her solo discography, the singles "Al primer derrote" (1959), "Tú te casate" (1961), "Gloria a Chicuelo II" (1962), "Miguel de la Cruz Romero" (1963), and "Qué bonita está la Reina" (1963) stand out. Hellín
Hellín is a city and Municipalities in Spain, municipality of Spain located in the province of Albacete, Castilla–La Mancha. The municipality spans across a total area of 781.66 km2. As of 1 January 2020, it has a population of 30,200, which makes it the second largest municipality in the province. It belongs to the Comarcas of Spain, ''comarca'' of Campos de Hellín. Espartinas is a city located in the province of Seville, Spain. According to the 2019 census (INE), the city has a population of 15791 inhabitants. It is twinned with Clackmannanshire in Scotland. Copla (music)
The ''copla,'' ''copla andaluza'' ("Andalusian ''copla''"), ''canción andaluza'', ''canción española'', ''tonadilla'' or ''canción folklórica'' is a form of Spanish popular song, deriving from the poetic form of the same name. Although the genre has a long heritage, it flourished in the 1930s and 1940s, and is epitomized by songwriters Antonio Quintero, Rafael de León and Manuel Quiroga. One of the first singers of ''coplas'' was Raquel Meller. Initially she sang ''cuplé'', which later evolved in Andalusian and Spanish song into the ''copla'' as it is known today. Other well-known singers of ''coplas'' are Imperio Argentina, Manolo Corrales, Estrellita Castro, Concha Piquer, Miguel de Molina, Lola Flores, Marifé de Triana, Juanita Reina, Manolo Escobar, Juanito Valderrama, Sara Montiel and Antonio Molina. Juanito Valderrama
Juan Valderrama Blanca (24 May 1916 – 12 April 2004), better known as Juanito Valderrama, was a Spanish flamenco and folk singer. Although he was known for singing copla, he always claimed to be a flamenco singer. Born in Torredelcampo, Juanito's recording career began in 1935 and lasted more than 60 years.
