Dolichi
Dolichi ( el, Δολίχη) is a village and a community of the Elassona municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Livadi, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 430 inhabitants in the village. The community of Dolichi covers an area of 17.373 km2. Within the village's area is the site of the ancient city of Doliche. Doliche is situated on the west foot of Mount Olympus, 21 km from Elassona to Katerini, at an attitude of 5,90 m. According to the last census in 2001, the population of Doliche was 473 people. With the municipal district of Livadi they constitute the municipality of Livadi of the prefecture Larissa. However, 2011 will comprise the municipality Elassona. Doliche (Thessaly)
Doliche ( el, Δολίχη) was an ancient Greek city and polis (city-state) in Perrhaebia in Thessaly, situated at the foot of Mount Olympus. Doliche, with the two neighbouring towns of Azorus and Pythion (Pythium), formed a Tripolis. During the Roman–Seleucid War, the Tripolis was ravaged by an army of the Aetolian League in the year 191 BCE. During the Third Macedonian War the three towns surrendered to the army of Perseus of Macedon in the year 171 BCE, but that same year the Romans reconquered the three. In the year 169 BCE troops arrived from the Roman consul Quintus Marcius Philippus who camped between Azorus and Doliche. The three cities minted a common coin with the inscription "ΤΡΙΠΟΛΙΤΑΝ". Livadi
Livadi or Leivadi ( el, Λ βάδι) is a village and a former municipality in the Larissa regional unit, Thessaly, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Elassona, of which it is a municipal unit. Before the 2011 local government reform it was an independent municipality. The 2011 census recorded 2,674 residents in the municipal unit and 2,244 residents in the community of Livadi. The community of Livadi covers an area of 140.90 km2 while the respective municipal unit 158.273 km2. Larissa ( el, Περιφερειακή ενότητα Λάρισας) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Thessaly. Its capital is the city of Larissa. Total population 269,151 (2021). Geography Larissa is the second largest regional unit in Greece, exceeded only by Aetolia-Acarnania. It covers about one-third of Thessaly. Elassona
Elassona ( el, Ελασσόνα; Katharevousa: gr, Ἐλασσών, Elasson) is a town and a municipality in the Larissa regional unit in Greece. During antiquity Elassona was called Oloosson (Ὀλοοσσών) and was a town of the Perrhaebi tribe. It is situated at the foot of Mount Olympus. The municipalities of Greece ( el, δήμοι, translit=dímoi ) are the lowest level of government within the organizational structure of the state. As of 2021, there are 332 municipalities, further divided into 1036 municipal units and 6136 communities. Thirteen administrative regions form the second-level unit of government.
