Doli (1969 Film)
''Doli'' () is a 1969 Hindi-language film written and directed by Adurthi Subba Rao and stars Rajesh Khanna and Babita. This film is counted among the 17 consecutive hit films of Rajesh Khanna between 1969 and 1971, by adding the two hero films Marayada and Andaz to the 15 consecutive solo hits he gave from 1969 to 1971. The film was a remake of the Telugu film '' Thene Manasulu''. Plot The story follows two college friends; Amar and Prem, whose lives get entangled with two neighbors; Asha and Shobha. Shobha's father steals dowry money and the theft is blamed on Asha's father. Both girls marry their respective partners. Shobha's husband travels away and returns with the need for a new wife. Amar falls for Asha not knowing that he left her at the wedding altar and that she is his wife (he refused to look at her face). Adurthi Subba Rao
Adurthi Subba Rao (16 December 1912 – 1 October 1975) was an Indian film director, cinematographer, screenwriter, editor and producer known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. Rao is widely regarded as the intellectual fountain head of Indian drama films. He has garnered seven National Film Awards. Rao made his foray into cinema as Associate to Uday Shankar in the 1948 dance film Kalpana, which was showcased in the "Treasures from National Film Archive of India" at the 39th International Film Festival of India. The 1960 film Nammina Bantu was a work of drama in the broader sense achieved by means of actors who represented mimesis throughout the narrative. Mohammed Rafi
Mohammed Rafi (24 December 1924 – 31 July 1980) was an Indian playback singer and musician. He is considered to have been one of the greatest and most influential singers of the Indian subcontinent. Rafi was notable for his versatility and range of voice; his songs varied from fast peppy numbers to patriotic songs, sad numbers to highly romantic songs, qawwalis to ghazals and bhajans to classical songs. Mahendra Kapoor (9 January 1934 – 27 September 2008) was an Indian playback singer.
