Dog House Music
''Dog House Music'' is the second album by Seasick Steve, and his first as a solo artist. It was released on 27 November 2006; however, pre-release CDs were available for sale to members of his site's mailing list. The album is almost entirely performed by Seasick Steve, apart from snare drum on "Yellow Dog" and crash cymbal on "Fallen Off a Rock", performed by H.J. Wold (a relation of Steve, whose real name is Steve Wold), and drums on the hidden track by Steve's son P.M. Wold. The album reached number 37 in the UK Albums Chart, number 1 in the independent album charts, and number 31 in the downloads chart, all three from sales in the UK. Blues
Blues is a music genre and musical form which originated in the Deep South of the United States around the 1860s. Blues incorporated spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts, chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads from the African-American culture. Bronze Rat Records (aka Bronzerat) is a British independent record label, established in London in 2006 by Welsh musician and producer Andrew Zammit, and also encompasses subsidiary label Seriés Aphōnos. Established in 2006 as an outlet for The Gemma Ray Ritual, Zammit’s band with long-term collaborator Gemma Ray, the label has since has gone on to release all of her solo records, as well as releases by other artists including Dutch experimentalist Solex, Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Berlin instrumentalists The Still, and Joe Gideon. ''Cheap'' is the first album by Seasick Steve. It consists of songs by him and his Swedish/Norwegian band The Level Devils, and also two stories from his life as a hobo. The Level Devils consisted of the Norwegian Kai Christoffersen playing the drums and the Swedish Jo Husmo on bass guitar. ''I Started Out with Nothin and I Still Got Most of It Left'' (styled ''i Started out with nothin and i Still got most of it Left'') is the third album by Seasick Steve. It was released on September 29, 2008. It entered the UK Albums Chart at number 9 on October 6, 2008. The album is his first on the record label Warner Bros. Records, but the vinyl releases are still on his old label, Bronzerat Records. The record features guest musicians Ruby Turner, Grinderman and KT Tunstall. Turner's vocals were originally performed by Tunstall, although she later backed out of this role, but is still featured on the album playing flute, guitar and singing backing vocals. The album was released in two ways: the standard edition (with only 11 tracks on one disc), and the Die Cut limited edition, which includes three bonus tracks on disc one and also a bonus disc with six tracks (two songs, four spoken word). iTunes download, included 11 tracks. A crash cymbal is a type of cymbal that produces a loud, sharp "crash" and is used mainly for occasional accents, as opposed to a ride cymbal. It can be mounted on a stand and played with a drum stick, or by hand in pairs. One or two crash cymbals are a standard part of a drum kit. The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. In the field of recorded music, a hidden track (sometimes called a ghost track, secret track or unlisted track) is a song or a piece of audio that has been placed on a CD, audio cassette, LP record, or other recorded medium, in such a way as to avoid detection by the casual listener. Yellow Dog Railroad
The Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad (Y&MV) was incorporated in 1882 and was part of the Illinois Central Railroad system (IC). Construction began in Jackson, Mississippi, and continued to Yazoo City, Mississippi. The line was later expanded through the Mississippi Delta and on to Memphis, Tennessee. In 1886, the IC purchased the Mississippi and Tennessee Railroad. In 1892, the IC bought the Memphis to New Orleans line, forming the Louisville, New Orleans and Texas Railway. These lines were merged into the Y&MV. Main lines included Memphis to New Orleans via Vicksburg and Baton Rouge, Memphis to Tutwiler, Clarksdale, MS to Yazoo City, Clarksdale to Jackson, MS, and Jackson to Natchez.
